LIke arguing with a brick wall seems to me....I don't really care one way or the other, my only point was of course UTSA students were not going to vote for any athletic hike to go towards athletics when at least for one of the top 2 sports one any campus(men's basketball is considered 2nd to only football) they have very little student support....This is fact and even UTSA fans have chimed in for years saying they need a new arena, which is another fact...

Sigh. In response to this post, I provided examples to show UTSA does get student interest in football since you said you did not know. That was literally all I posted. I just wanted to show they do have some interest in sports. And, Josh decided to give his two cents and I was just simply responding to him until you responded to me again. As you said not only their overall basketball attendance was low, but there were a few students in the stands when you watched the game, I just provided similar information for football. Also, please quit presenting misinformation (the capacity at the Convocation Center) when we live in an age where Google exists. Thank you.

Well, I can't say it any simpler than this. Good luck.

You clearly don't understand what this whole discussion was about...

You made the assertion, as a WKU fan, that UTSA basketball student attendance is low and based off that assertion, UTSA football attendance is most likely low since it doesn't seem like they garner great student interest in sports.

With data provided by the university, which is only overall attendance that we have made available to us, I showed that UTSA does have great football attendance.

Then our friend Josh joined the discussion, not using any logic, believing whatever he reads on the Internet. Apparently, because you'd used the word student, you must know what you're talking about and that I lacked reading comprehension. Clearly by your inaccuracy (again) of the capacity at the Convocation Center, this isn't always the case.

The issue is if you're going to infer student attendance based off overall attendance for basketball (which you basically admit to), you have to do the same for football. By doing so, it seems like their student attendance (and interest) for football is much greater than basketball.

I'm not saying UTSA basketball student attendance isn't low; I simply argued that you made your assertion based off their overall attendance (which your later responses indicate) to which Josh had disagreed because you used the word student and couldn't possibly be making inferences from their overall attendance.

UTSA basketball student attendance is low. This can be inferred from data provided for their overall basketball attendance.

By the way, I'm done with this discussion as I was proven right.

What the hell are you talking about, are you a reporter from CNN or a Russian troll bot that spits out nonsense on message boards? But the ones that do go to games got to watch your team get beat by UTSA.

Congrats, you guys have owned us last two seasons out of 100...Cannot wait to met again in conference tournament!

We've only had basketball since 1981, and no one has owned anyone the last 2 seasons. As a matter of fact, we've only played a total of 4 times so far in our history with you guys winning three. You've definitely had a much better program for a long time though, as our all-time winning percentage is only .527.

RE: UTSA Students Vote Against Athletic Fee Hike
UTSA got a huge boost from the city of San Antonio's bond which passed this last year for facilities. In fact the $10,000,000 was almost all of my district's input. I didn't agree with the way it was sold to the councilman but I guess it worked out for UTSA.

Nah, it was kind of mismanaged. We asked for $25 mil and they came back with $10 mil. This is not quite a complete picture.

RE: UTSA Students Vote Against Athletic Fee Hike
That's about $10 mil more than any other school I know of in CUSA getting from their cities. Seems the students could have helped out after a boost from the city. I guess district 8 won't be getting any pot holes fixed for a while.

RE: UTSA Students Vote Against Athletic Fee Hike
This topic is always an interesting one. It comes down to what percentage of an athletic budget should be placed on the backs of students (or parents paying that bill). At the G5 level that is a difficult question, due to the lack of material TV revenue. Should it be 40%, 50%, 60%? Unfortunately some are north of 75%.
