Yeah, I like Gottfried or Moton for ECU. No Thanks to Eustachy. Dude is 62 and has baggage.

Gottfried was chased out of bama and NCST after having back to back bad seasons. He is my least favorite candidate out of all the ones mentioned by a long shot. Please not to Gottfried.

Here's a news story on Eustachy's wife when she was a coach:

Gottfired....he is the reason UC has Kyle Washington (he got tired of the circus and transferred) and Gary Clark (NC State took Abdul Malik Abu over Gary Clark. We should send him flowers or something.

Mark Gottfried - 11 NCAA tournament appearances, 4 NIT appearances in 20 seasons

Tom Crean - 9 NCAA tournament appearances, 4 NIT appearances in 18 seasons

Jeff Lebo - 0 NCAA tournament appearances, 2 NIT appearances in 20 seasons

Just saying. Gottfried would be a HUGE upgrade over Lebo, and I'm not convinced Crean would do any better at ECU than Gottfried -- especially considering Gottfried has more experience recruiting the area.

Exactly. Bobby Knight material. They could do a whole lot worse.

I'm quite certain Lebo was very sensitive to player's feelings.

Easy fix. Get a Gatorade machine and stock nothing in the building but 6 oz Styrofoam cups. Worst thing that can happen is somebody gets a light shower that dries a little sticky. Does that satisfy your Charmin sensibilities?

P.S. Maybe the dude wasn't going after rebounds. Totally deserving of a Coke can across the bow if so.

That is top shelf humor. Saturday Night Live used to be funny, really funny. Now it's mostly unfunny.

Yes, I am having to go around cleaning up remarks that don't belong here. There is a specific board for that.

I agree 100% with Pony. This board is not the place to be calling people libtards. I see enough of this garbage elsewhere. This is a sports board... I don't mind some off-topic chatter, but I'm sick of inflammatory, partisan BS, regardless of which side it comes from.

going 16-17 after a couple of Sweet 16's would be an epic run for ECU...you guys would offer him a lifetime contract.

he would be a MAJOR upgrade over Lebo.

I sincerely apologize for using politically incorrect vernacular in this very serious basketball thread. I sense a different kind of tension in the air so I have followed the moderator's timely instruction and created a political thread whereby folks may state their grievances and heal.

Wichita State actually had a coach in the late 90's who had a penchant for chucking pressurized aluminum containers... the toughness he brought was what stopped the bleeding and helped to turn around the worst period in Shocker history.

He eventually had to be replaced because it seems all he knew about basketball was toughness, but he served a purpose and will always be remembered fondly by this Shocker fan. I think he would have made a great assistant DI coach alongside calmer, more strategic personalities.

Ecu should hire Pitino. He brings the strippers, cash, blow, and makes 18 year olds rich!

Plus I can't hate him if he disappears.
