Another FCS hire. Why can’t we get FBS coaches?!

We don't have the budget to poach FBS coaches, unless it's a promotion (position coach to OC or DC) There's plenty of great coaches in all divisions. It's more of who you know.

Coordinators from FCS schools move up to head coach at FCS or position coaches (or coordinators) in the FBS. This is how it works. Both of the previous coordinators in our program were hired from FCS schools.

Wright was a MAC champion as a player with Miami, so I imagine he understand how to win in this league. I have no clue about his skill set.

Does this mean Malone slides in as OC and the staff is set? Don't we have a limit on the number of coaches?

You aren't getting big number of FBS coaches at WMU or any G5 at the"Co-coach special teams" or safety position level. We actually have a few coaches with FBS and NFL experience . Their are some pretty good FCS talent out there.
