After today’s action, the Bucs can do no worse than a tie for second place. One more win and we are assured outright second place. 3 more wins and we can not fall below a first place tie. #4th

VMI busted their humps today. They definitely did not lose due to effort.
Listened to the radio coverage which picked up a lot of the crowd noise. I got a kick out of the VMI crowd; they were wearing out the Buc players, but not in a nasty or classless manner. Sounds like it would be a fun place to catch a game.

VMI is a great place to watch a game. Great place to watch when the cadets are there.

Listened to the radio coverage as well. I have always been impressed by the passion that the Keydets bring when they are in attendance. However, I wish that some of them could expand their vocabulary. The young man who was apparently sitting directly behind Jay should be informed that there is a wider range of comments to make as a witness to a sporting event than "You suck." The first 20 or 30 times he shouted that it was mildly amusing, after that it began to wear on the listener.

Beat UNCG and just one more win of the final four and we would have at least a tie for regular season crown. Lose to UNCG and we need to win three of the last four to tie (assuming no further UNCG loss).

Playing devil's advocate, if the Bucs only manage 3 more wins, and assuming of course also that UNCG doesn't loose another game, if ETSU finishes with UNCG in a tie for 1st, how would that determine who might or might not be eligible for an NIT bid?
If I recall correctly, despite a 3 way tie last year, the Bucs would not have been eligible for the NIT bid due to the two losses to UNCG, and I think some other team having a tie breaker or something. This year, ETSU has a the potential for a better overall record, and has beaten every SoCon team at least once already.

I think we would have a good shot to be an at large bid in the NIT if we only lost 1-2 more games, even if we dont win the regular season title.

Playing devils advocate some more, I know that barring something really bizarre and/or horrible happening, it's extremely rare if not impossible to get more then one team in the NCAA, how hard is it realistically for a conference on the level of the SoCon to get an at large bid to the NIT?

Well I know that Sanders was upset ETSU didnt get picked during Forbes' first year as he thought our RPI in the 80's might be enough. Given that, seems like an RPI in the 60s would be enough.
