I dont see them having a team capable of a FF run next year without Clark and Washington.

I think it depends on a couple things. Cumberland has a ton of potential, and if he can start shooting closer to 40% from 3 and 80% from FT, and learn how to position himself from not getting offensive fouls, he could be come a 18-20 ppg player and an NBA Draft pick. Pair him with a senior Evans and that is a dangerous duo. If Broome gets abother year here he could finally become a legitimate PG option full time. Couple that with Moore and Williams taking the next step. The front court is a concern, I'm not denying that, it would be nice if Mick had someone coming in but I'm afraid he thinks Scott and Brooks is the answer.

I'm seeing more and more projections of him in the second round...I'm starting to think the chances of him coming back are rising, not falling, as the season progresses. To be clear, I still don't think they're that high, but I think they're more significant than "less than 10%".

That's a lot of of "Ifs". Make no mistake about it, i want him to come back for selfish reasons, but i honestly feel that his best chance for success is for him to go pro after this season.

BearcatMan, do you know if he was on any draftboards previously? if so, did he ever crack the first round projections? i've only looked at one and they didn't have him on there at all. i think the fact that he's starting to get on draft boards is a sign of his stock rising, not necessarily falling. That said, i'm completely unaware of what his standing was previously.

I've seen him mid to late 2nd round. Haven't seen him higher than that.

At the beginning of the year/about a month and half ago, there were multiple different sites that had Evans going in the back half of the first round. I know for sure SI was one and I think ESPN had him as well. I still think he leaves. The NBA is all about projection. Right now he is an extremely young junior, but if he waits until his senior year to leave that will change. For NBA purposes, he is what he is at this point. He is a 3 and D bench player that will play extremely solid and not make dumb mistakes. For their purposes, that isn't going to change after next year, except for that you get one less year of him in his prime. He'd be a great fit for a team like the Rockets that are going to lose a few back up wings this year in free agency and need cheap replacements.

That's shocking all things considered. He averaged about 13 pts, 4 boards and just under 3 assists last season on a team that lost in the first weekend of the tourney. i believe in JEIII as much as anyone but considering how quickly ppl are willing to anoint one and dones to the L, i'm surprised one site, let alone multiple ones, had Evans that high.

Any team that makes the tournament can go on a final four run. For some teams (1,2,3 seeds) they an make it because they are just better than everyone else. For others, it's about getting hot at the right time.

There have been teams with less talent than that UC team would have next year that have made the final four.
