Cool Steve Forbes with Penny as Assistant
Steve Forbes’ East Tennessee State team is atop of the conference- Good record, good coach, would recruit his butt off here without Penny. With Penny we would be Unstoppable!
GET HIM NOW

If it helps we have a color laser printer at work. Perhaps we can create a snazzy brochure.

I'd settle for the Steve Forbes from Forbes magazine at this rate.

What you want is Penny in no official role so he's not under NCAA rules. You need a coach that is friendly to him and remembers to tickle the balls.

Speaking of balls, why is there a soccer ball icon?

Are we still talking about Penny Hardaway as an assistant?

Let's not insult the guy. He was an NBA point guard.

Give him the keys.

BTiger would have ignored the thread otherwise. Gotta appeal to your audience

I'm coming around. We need a "polar opposite" from the Tubster. The lost revenue makes $10M over 3 years look like a friggin bargain. I'm to the point of "Any plan beats no plan", and we seem to be in the No Plan category.

That's the mistake we made last time too. Don't hire a "polar opposite." Hire a coach who does everything well.

Posts like this makes me cringe at the thought of some posters ability to be so dense. PENNY IS NOT LOOKING TO BE ANYONE'S ASSISTANT COACH! Why can't we keep this simple and just give him the dang job now and become immediately relevant again? Holy Moly jeez03-banghead03-banghead

I'd take Penny with Forbes as head coach.

Not the other way around.

Penny is in the batter's box.

Tubby has two strikes.

It's just a matter of how many wild pitches are thrown at him before that last strike.

Then it's Penny's turn to knock a home run for the hometown team.

Bye, bye, Tubby.

It sucked knowing ya.

Give him the keys.

Clyde Drexler was a college and NBA all star too. Total disaster.

Penny has coached and won championships. Did Clyde do that too? Hell... Penny has indoor basketball courts where kids come to get better. No comparison.

Where did Penny win championships? Coaching? An AAU super stud squad, yeah that would be difficult.

Not trying to diminish Penny, but why does every mention of a coaching job at Memphis have to include some former player's name? Penny was probably the best ever for his accomplishments post UofM, but that DOES NOT make him a coach.

I'll take Steve Forbes in a heartbeat, and let Penny feed the program, WITHOUT being a coach.
