2018 Schedule
NIU season ticket solicitation football web site shows MAC crossover home games against Ohio and Miami with Utah, Toledo and CMU filling out the schedule.

Any idea on the two road crossovers might be?

Which ones do you guess will be on a weeknight? My guess is Toledo and Ohio, with Utah on a Friday night or maybe Saturday night (if we are lucky). It would not shock me to see CMU on a weeknight, too.

I have a feeling we will see more Saturdays this year. I think Frazier even mentioned something like that.

I heard that, too, but STF is not the boss. ESPN controls the conference and its schedule.....and whatever ESPN wants, ESPN gets.

UT at NIU on a Saturday would be great for NIU and Toledo fans.

Sure, but as long as the ESPN contract exists, it will never happen, as long as both teams remain competitive.

RE: 2018 Schedule
When was the last time we played Toledo at home on a Saturday?
Same for WMU?

I bet Miami is the Homecoming game. Since we can't beat CMU don't have them for Homecoming.

Last UT@NIU on a Saturday I remember was the payback game in 2008. Huskies' won 38-7.

RE: 2018 Schedule
Both CMU and EMU have Sept 15th open same as NIU.

Lets see if the MAC again takes the money over players and programs health same as last year when NIU and EMU could have played on week 2 on a Saturday instead of a November weeknight MACtion game.

NIU/UT has to be 2nd or 3rd to last game every year. Isn't that the rule? Then NIU plays a directional Michigan team Friday after Thanksgiving.

With only 1 non conference home game scheduled, unless NIU gets a break with 3 Saturday home conference games; Huskies will likely have only 3 Saturday home games again in 18. 03-banghead

RE: 2018 Schedule
I don't see how ESPN would allow the Toledo game to be on a Saturday but some of the other lesser MAC games I wouldn't be surprised to have on saturday.

If for some reason it works out we do play on Saturday, my guess it's back at the cell. Would be a good draw on a weekend imo.

huskies will never go back to the cell: turnout was most disappointing to the powers that be even though it was a great event...

1 road crossover, probably Kent St. Loved the BGSU & CMU roadtrips last year - great afternoon weather for both. Hopefully a couple more MAC roadtrips like that again next year.

The road crossover is Akron.

Still believe it's confirmation that those weeknight games late in the schedule are simply not appealing no matter where you play.
