Question about MBB
I love Adway’s enthusiasm, but, why isn’t Willie Jackson starting let alone even playing Why isn’t Rose playing? Good transfers and recruits will get upset and leave. We smoked Akron and those two never played.

Willie Jackson has some sort of injury—not exactly sure what or when it happened, but he also didn’t play against Ball State, either, and Coach K mentioned we missed him & he needs to get healthy.

As for Rose, I think his name and uncle made some folks expect that he would be a bigger contributor than he has been. I think his game is a bit behind at this level. Time will tell.

RE: Question about MBB
yeah man, willie jackson is a great reserve small forward who had to miss the first 9 games per ncaa. he seems to go off on the road but struggle a bit at home so far. he has an injury that sounds like it's kinda day to day but hasn't played in a week. rose is fast and can adapt to the speed of the college game but isn't ready to be a pg or a primary option as a scorer. so where does he play? do you give hime some of sanford's minutes? fletchers? if he gets minutes it will be because of his defense or cuz someone gets hurt. he will have an offseason to take a breath enjoy college and refocus on his game. year 2 is generally when you find out whether a guy can compete and help you. with roberts and gordon playing well the bench is pretty deep.

RE: Question about MBB
The dude from the blade tweeted yesterday that Jackson has a shoulder injury and, like others have said, is day-to-day.

RE: Question about MBB
Thanks for the update on W Jackson. Hope he gets well quick, he will be needed down the stretch.

Likewise I hope Roberts isn't out for long with a bum shoulder.

Funny thing about Rose is that he was the highest rated of this years freshman class. He was rated 3 stars by most of the recruiting sites ahead of Marreon Jackson, Alderson, Gordon and Logan Hill. Shows what those ratings are worth.

He can contribute if he develops an outside shot, he is quick and drives hard to the hoop and can be a factor on defense but with Coach Ks system the guards have to shoot 3s

I don't think he's a bad shooter, just not as good as others, plus he likes to shoot

RE: Question about MBB
Another question. I may have heard it wrong, but one of the announcers Saturday (excellent win considering...) called Coach K an Izzo disciple. I can't really find anything to prove that. He was never a coach under Izzo best I can tell.

But I did find this little piece of trivia (from the Rocket BB page): Coach K

Quote:A standout prep star at De Pere (WI) High School for coach Jake Orlowski, Kowalczyk still holds the school record with 53 points scored in a single game for the Redbirds.

He likes offense.

The Izzo connection is Tom Crean. Crean was an assistant for Izzo at Michigan State before becoming the head coach at Marquette. Coach K was an assistant for Crean at Marquette before becoming the head coach at Green Bay. So, he is not a direct Izzo disciple, but there is a connection.

RE: Question about MBB
When he took the Rocket job Coach K did mention that Izzo had told him to take the Rocket job.

That's a towering old tree with roots that go back to the Jud Heathcote “tree” of outstanding coaches – Izzo, Don Monson, Mark Few, Jim Brandenburg, Mike Montgomery, Tom Crean, Stan Joplin, Kelvin Sampson and others. Of course Heathcote was an offshoot of the legendary Marv Harshman tree...
