I understand that, but if he decides he doesn't want to coach here anymore he has the choice of resigning with no money or negotiating a buyout.
I have no idea if he's willing to stay for the duration for the money even if he's miserable, or would rather negotiate a deal and go home. For all I know he's happy as a clam and looks forward to staying for the full 5 years.

RE: “Need Pyschological Help” “We just aren’t very good”
Reality is the worst 3 point shooting team in the nation hit 11-24 from 3. Many from ranges which you normally would say take it if you want.
Orlando game planned to close up the inside and force them to shoot from the outside and they hit them. Yet he didn't adjust his game plan when they started hitting.
Main issue i saw tonight was we completely sucked at FT shooting. With the differential in FT attempts if we were able to actually shoot FTs we win easily. Had 14 more attempts but only had 4 more made FTs for the game. Had 12 missed FTs and Martin missed 6 himself.

Absolutely despicable to throw the players under the bus every time they lose but take credit every time they win. The complete opposite of what leadership should look and sound like. Pathetic to do this to HIS players...

Tubby throws his players under the bus because he knows he can do that. Will there be any repurcussions? None. Whoever is in charge has no spine.

In the event that Tubby is our coach next season, there might be a 1% chance that Saul is an assistant.

Do not agree at all. There is no way Tubby fires his son. Why would he? He does not care about pressure from the admin or fans. This is his last stop before retirement and knows if they fire him for not firing Saul he will be cashing $3 mil per year in checks while sipping margaritas on a beach...

Tubby has complete control of who his staff is. Period.
Lawson would still be here if he didn't.

Tubby does it THE RIGHT WAY.
If THE RIGHT WAY doesn't work, it's not his problem.
Tubby is secure in the all-mighty knowledge that he did it THE RIGHT WAY, no matter what the outcome might be.
(There can be no logical discussion with someone who thinks like this.)

Yep. Been saying it on here. We have an admin that is f-ing clueless about running a legit big time D1 basketball program. No wonder Marshall & buzz had no interest. They’ve ruined this program and I don’t know that it ever gets fixed. Sure as heck won’t with those 2 dipshts in charge. They did ok with football but sacrificed basketball in doing so. Swung for a better league and struck out so now we’re bottom of the barrel AAC hoops with a washed up bum for a coach
Btw, #10 Texas Tech won at TCU today
I just don't see it. They got out of a bad contract with a coach they weren't responsible for. They got Laurie back in the fold, and got the new facility. They still provide top 25 salary money. Just made a bad hire. I don't see them as clueless. People make bad hires. Now let's see what they do about it.
Maybe I'm missing what else your laying at their feet, other than a bad hire. I feel confident they are not as dumb as you perceive.

I was on board. Certainly better than today. I'd take another 4-game streak right now. Doesn't mean we felt everything was fixed. Just meant we appreciated the effort and the results.

That hire might actually make me become a fan of another team.
Why so? It's one thing to disagree with a hire. It's another to abandon before anything actually happens on the court or in recruiting.
At the same time, I'd feel this way about hiring Pearl. But Penny ain't Pearl.

Exactly because it’s common knowledge among the boosters that Bowen had promised Keelon he would be assistant bench coach. Tubby didn’t honor the promise and Bowen didn’t do jack.

I guess if Tubby kicked Lawson down the bench for Saul to be AC and nothing was done about it from the administration, maybe they couldn't legally say anything to prevent it. When this little s#!t storm finally ends, I hope the University puts a no nepotism clause in all future contracts so they have some leverage against this sort of situation.
