RE: Kent State @ Bowling Green State University
If Walker's antics are so ridiculous and embarrassing then why has he only been called for 2 technical fouls in 76 career games? Not coincidentally, both techs were against Buffalo and his old HS coach that didn't offer him a scholarship, so I'm sure he gets a little extra wound up for those games. Basketball is an emotional game. Players on both sides trash talk each other all game. Student sections chant offensive things at players all game. Walker ssshhing the crowd after a big three or De La Rosa getting fired up after scoring with two guys hanging from his back really isn't that big of a deal to me. Demetric Shaw wore his emotions on his sleeve every single play and opposing fans hated him for it. I never heard anyone call him "embarrassing" or that he needed to keep his emotions in check. I remember reading a quote from him once that when he first got to Kent there was next to no one at the games so he tried to show as much emotion as possible to get the team fired up. If that's what it takes for these guys to get themselves fired up then what's the issue? As long as they're not getting techs or failing to get back on defense then I couldn't care less.

This is a lot like the rap music discussion. A lot of us don’t like the in your face celebrating but we don’t get a vote. In our day a fight would have broken out every time it was done. Sadly (for us) it’s not our day anymore.

The line between winning and losing in this conference is paper thin. Think where this message board would be with Sendy if it wasn't for those hot 5 days last March. It would be ugly with the vast majority calling for a change. Be careful what you wish for though. Look at UT and BG, 2 proud programs with way more $$$ than we do and they haven't been to the tourney in what 30-40 years??

Why does Sendy put up with Walker "alleged stuff"? Um because he has to. Sendy knows what he's doing. My only complaint and I sure hope they address it in offseason is they need at least 2 more pure shooters. We're wildily inconsistent on that front and are 33% from 3 as a team.
We could be real good next year but go find shooters, go JC if you have to, get a grad transfer, get a one dimensional guy like nate meers if you have to but we need shooters to open up middle and I think if have more options to shoot Walker may (big may) play more under control.

ksu315,

I would add that they will need one more big to come off the bench and offer something...anything. Currently after De La Rosa and Pippen it is slim pickings under the hoop.

Also, he can put up with that all he wants. This fan, isn't going to waste his time or money if that sort of behavior becomes the rule. The fact that it happened while the team was blowing a 19 point lead is laughable. I get it, I am old school and have to realize that sort of nonsense is all over the AAU circuit and ESPN and blah blah blah. But those of us who consider it bushleague, cowardly...whatever you want to call it have as much as right to express that as those who prefer to stand up for it.

Go Flashes!

Don't they have a big guy and a shooter sitting out??? ... Didn't they recruit a JC shooter?

Not enough time to check.

And Kain Harris is the 6'4" transfer from Tulane that shot 42% from three last year. To me, if a scholarship opens up I'd like a hs pg to groom behind Avery for a year or a hs SF with legit size. I've seen us linked to a 6'7" Canadian SF that looks like he moves well and stretches the floor well. I like that Sendy is starting to tap the Canadian market. There's talent to be had up there, just often the players are more raw.

DeAndre Gholston, high school class of '18 recruit is putting up some impressive numbers for his senior year. Almost averaging a double-double. Listed as 6'4"" so should bring some nice size to the back court.

RE: Kent State @ Bowling Green State University
One positive I've been noticing lately. It seems like our perimeter players, particularly Walker, are going to the escape dribble when someone runs at them instead of dribbling in. Earlier in the year it seemed like every time someone ran at Walker he either forced it or took one dribble by them and took deep 2. It seems to be helping get us better looks at threes.
