GameDay: BSU
Game #10 of the MAC season, which if my math hasn't failed me, is the start of the 2nd half of the season.
The line is BSU by 1 point.

I'll say BSU by 12. Wish there was more optimism.

You should be in Vegas betting your life savings... (too late now, though, all planes from DTW would arrive after game time).
Guys if there is so little optimism on EMU MBB, get a bookie and bet a Benjamin and say, "you win some (bets) and you lose some (the game, itself)."
Do that nine game and say, "better than the stock market this week..." Lol.

Lost enough of the savings with yesterday's market drop. I'll stay away from bookies.

My first game of the season. Glad they're letting us drink beer in our seats now. I think I'll need it.

Question:
Because of the team or the market?
Some might be struggling because of both. The WMU loss wasn't the only bad thing to effect many EMU fans this week.

RE: GameDay: BSU
Good first half. Team still tries to do too many ESPN highlights which costs them, but they are having a decent game.
#MinnieTime He is having a nice game. Carrying the scoring with JT4 sitting with 2 fouls.
As Chad noted, JT4 rested most of the 1st half while Moses played. Hopefully JT4 eats his lunch the 2nd half.

I’m not missing it, good performance and effort. Just not gonna let one game change my opinion on the season and coach. Good for the guys though, they need some positive vibes.

But the luckiest man is 'Nickle who thought the Cards would win by 12.
So if he had gone to Vegas or got a bookie...

That's why I don't bet on sports.
Sure wish this team could play consistently.

The good news as of this posting we are the #8 seed with a 4 - 6 record.
#3 and 6 CMU and NIU have games later today.

Good man, 'Nickle. I didn't expect that EMU would play their best game of the season today..
Bond had a real stat sheet stuffer today... He did everything and was a human highlight show.

RE: GameDay: BSU
Fun game to be at. Not many students, but a decent sized crowd. I've seen worse. $3 beers are nothing to complain about either.
Masterclass defensive performance, especially in the 2nd half. We held them scoreless for about 7 minutes of game time, which really sealed it. Murphy adjusted to Whitford's gameplan, and the latter couldn't figure out what to do. They tried to run the whole offense through Moses at the free throw line, where he could pass to the other big (who'd cut to the basket) or to an open shooter. Minnie and Bond (who were both brilliant) took away the cutter, and the guards would chase their shooters, leaving Moses to force a pass or try to take the center one-on-one, which he didn't seem too comfortable with.
That took away their whole plan, but they still tried to force it anyway, which led to a bevy of steals and blocks. Kudos also to Malik Ellison, who harassed the much slower Taylor Persons on the inbound, draining a lot of shot clock and forcing Ball State to play faster than they wanted to.
We still look lost offensively, but Minnie had a very good game. His best all around game this year, I think. The defense was the story, though. Tim Bond had 4 blocks, but it felt like 15. He was everywhere.
No one on this board will admit it, but Murphy outcoached Whitford, and we finally beat them for the first time in forever.

Me too, especially considering we are 1.5 games (in the loss column) out of a first round bye. The MAC is very "average" this year, and if we found a little bit of consistency to close the season, we could easily finish in the top 4.
The problem is, we've blown too many chances at home and just have no idea if the same combination of effort and execution will show up game-to-game. That's on Murphy, who clearly still has the locker room (these guys looked like they had a blast today). He's got to find a way to win at Kent State, where I don't think he's ever won.
