So, is Gregg's blueprint for success (recruit and coach up 3*'s and JUCO's) only a good formula in the MVC? Basically get through the regular season then take your chances in the NCAA and hope for a 2 or 3 game run?

This was supposed to be his most loaded team and his best three OOC wins are vs. Marquette (4-6 in the BE), Baylor (2-7 in B12) and Ok State (3-6 in B12).

In conference, WSU is 1-4 vs. KenPom top 100 teams.

So out of conference they have beaten the 49, 50 and 74 ranked kenpom teams and are ranked 22 in Kenpom.

If you are going to use Kenpom to measure good teams, use it, and Kenpom has WSU rated as a good team.

In terms of preseason ranking it is. Preseason #7.

The 2015-16 team (with senior Vanvleet) was #10.

The team that went undefeated in the regular season (2013-14) and lost to UKy in the 2nd round started out at #16

WSU just could not hold onto the ball in second half. 9 turnovers in second half alone. Went score less in the final 2+ minutes of regulation

9 turnover in 2nd half along with not being able to hit the side of the barn in 2nd half. 1-10 from 3 in second half after going 7-16 in the first. Scoreless for almost 3 minutes to end regulation.

Could be the product of other teams in each of those years as well. Meaning teams were stronger in 15-16. Where might the 15-16 team rank this year? Better than 7? Prob but knows.
