Additionally, I still don't understand everyone's fascination with JMU. As a whole, there athletic program is mostly awful year after year. Why invite more FBS competition and water down the recruiting pool even further for us? It reminds me of when VCU put a bonus clause in Shaka's contract for beating us. The main reason for this was so they could maintain one of the only advantages they had over us in recruiting.

Agree with you on almost everything, particularly soccer and baseball, where CUSA are actually pretty strong. Disagree on JMU, at least the part about their programs being "mostly awful year after year." Their men's basketball is largely mediocre or worse, but in addition to being one of the top FCS programs in the country, they also have very strong softball and a women's basketball team that, while not quite as good as they were under Kenny Brooks, is still pretty good. And while they don't bring the D.C. and Richmond markets (do their fans still claim that? I haven't been on their board in a while), they do have a reasonable presence everywhere in the state. So I can see the appeal.
There is not a football team at the G5 level outside of Boise State and maybe Wyoming that bring much of any market. Furthermore, TV has peaked and is bleeding badly. Does it really matter to the producer if an ad is purchased by Brothers in Law Huffman and Huffman, Harrisonburg Chiropractic Therapy, or the Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind? The days of national advertising on lower tier football are over.
