The point is he a 3* Athlete and could have played defense. Bring him and and let him compete !

Do you put more stock in coaches opinions or a website?

No, he was a 3* guard. He wasn't rated at a position he just started playing this past season.

I would wager they looked at the tape of him playing DT and weren't that impressed.

he must have honestly been flat out terrible then if our coaches thought that he wasnt good enough to compete for a spot on this football team

RE: What are our coaches doing?????
Usually individuals have to prove them selves at doing something well before the are allowed to improvise and go off and do what they want. It seems like the fellow is a good offensive lineman that wants to improvise but it is our coaches that are running the show and not the 18 year olds. That is the order of the universe.

I don't know what's going on but we have some pretty good defensive tackles. If position were the issue then I agree they should have been straight up "we want you to play o line if you're not interested in that you need to look elsewhere". I don't like stringing kids along but it seems to happen at a lot of schools, they don't want to cut a commit loose but want to keep their options open.

I am reminded of the saga of Shedrick McCall from 2017. There may be other issues here and the staff is taking the high road.

All good points. Have to think there was a reason behind it.

Nah...especially when this is not the first time we have heard about communications issues.

Maybe I’m old fashioned, but taking his rejection story to the press is a spiteful way to go out.

RE: What are our coaches doing?????
This answers your question right here. A 3* athlete doesn't translate to the kid can play anywhere on the field. I'm not sure how y'all don't understand this.

Teams mostly recruited the 6-foot-3, 280-pound Sams as an offensive guard, but he now hopes to play defensive tackle in college after excelling at both positions this past high school season.
