Sounds like we should have close to a sell out on Friday night. First game with our students back on campus...Should be a great game day atmosphere for CBS Sports Network

Wilder will have to go for 40, and will need either Davis or Jones to heat up from outside the arc to have a chance tonight. Should be a fun atmosphere to watch.

When Wilder dumps 28-40 pts we get clobbered. In nearly every win this season WMU has balanced scoring attack. Teams dare the other players to make a play. Time to make plays.

This team has the talent to win the conference, just have to find a way to play consistent ball. Seams like Hawkins isn't managing his team very well, too many high fives and gold stars and not enough yelling. At some point you need to put your foot down.

Certainly disagree with that.
Atleast 3 MAC teams have more talented players than our Broncos.
Currently WMU also has huge hole in the middle especially with their projected starting 7 ft center playing at less than 50% since he broke his foot in the first game of the year.
Finishing in the overall top four of the MAC needs to be their goal right now. That would assure the team of a 1st round MAC tournament bye.

Never said they were the most talented. I said they are talented enough to win the conference tournament. We have some decent wins this year, on the road @Milwaukee, St Louis, Kept it close with Toledo, clobbered EMU and Ball State. I think were right up there with the rest of them, Buffalo is clearly the favorite to win but anything can happen in March. If we can get Lamont to get going on the inside I think that really opens up a lot for Wilder and co. Hopefully Dugan will start progressing as the year goes on and that foot heals up before MAC tourney.

Buffalo plays tough attacking defense and we have no idea how to attack it. The contrast is very evident on the other end.

We look like a different team on offense this half. Still struggling to get stops.

Program is supposed to be built on tough defense. Consistently, year after year we are unable to defend the perimeter.

I'm not sure there is a more frustrating enterprise than watching Western Michigan basketball. We have good individual players but not that good of a team.

Listening to the hockey game, they gave the B-ball update...
something like 90 to 84 with 19 seconds left. I may have the score wrong, but looks like a loss for the Broncos will be recorded in the books.
Also, it was mentioned that Wilder had something like 32 points which answers my second question I had in a previous post.
Tough loss, but Buffalo is a good team. With a hobbled Dugan, limitations in the inside are pronounced. Go Broncos!!!

This loss had little to do with limitations in the post. It has more to do with the Broncos playing defense on the perimeter like a bunch of matadors then watching guys get open three point looks that even our guys could knock down. Well...maybe.
Wilder is a good player, but he played piss poor defense all night and didn't get his teammates involved.

RE: TV game WMU at Buffalo Friday night
I think this program has reached its ceiling under Hawkins. I mean hell, he's been here 15 years. Slightly above mediocrity is what we get most years. That said I'm not sure that ceiling would be much higher with anyone else. Is the institutional commitment there, are the facilities there?
