So far after all these years the only impact has been one dude who despite the long line of cars with brake lights lit because they were stopped ran smack dab into the back of the Jeep I had because he hauled ass down the right hand lane and realized too late it ended. Didn't even scratch my rock crawler bumper, peeled back his hood like it was a can opener and the receiver hitch destroyed the nose and radiator. Couple thousand dollars worth of damage to his car and a ticket from the popo served him right, especially since the Trooper that had to come work the wreck due to my reserve officer status was pissed he was working an in-town wreck. No breaks were cut that day.

Man, don't get me started on those jokers. Especially if they're already in the correct lane, then move into the lane that's ending so they can cut in front of 3 more cars and make them hit the brakes so he can get back in.

Actually, merging into one lane a mile or more before the lane goes away makes traffic worse. You should use all lanes, reduce speed, and merge together like a zipper as close to the lane reduction as possible.

But yeah, those who pull into the center double turn lane...or drive for hundreds of feet in there...grind my gears!

Nobody said anything about a mile. If there are 10 cars in a line, why do you have to fly up in front and then force your way in and make 10 cars slow down for your selfish a** instead of getting in line where there is plenty of room? That is not slowing down traffic except for the one guy who thinks he's more important than everyone else.

I had my fun today....I almost spun the rear of a dodge pick-em up who was the second in line that ran the turning lane red light.....and I gunned it too....I have a battering ram....

that little biatch is lucky I was weighted down.....

I remember when we didn't have Turning Lanes.

We have a number of these at work.

Go to the supply room. Take the last of something (pen, paper, sleeve of cups, etc.). Don't say a word to anyone about taking the last one. Wait for that same something to run out. B!tch about not having that something.

OR

Use the last of something. Don't bother to replace it. Leave the empty there for someone else to deal with.

The level of laziness never ceases to amaze me. We have a washroom where the soap is just one of those Softsoap bottles. I've seen people just leave the empty bottle sitting on the counter even though they have to walk RIGHT BY THE GARBAGE CAN to get out the door.

It's like dealing with children.

Full-grown adults, who live on their own, make decent money, have graduate degrees, yet still can not comprehend that they need to remove the used k pod from the keurig machine when they are done making their decaf french roast coffee.

I think construction zones are a little different because you are not only losing a lane (or 2) but you have to go slower so it is going to back up. The theory applies to heavy traffic, as you mentioned. There are a lot of situations where that doesn't really apply. In those cases, even if the rule still applied, efficiency is not a big deal there and should defer to politeness. Like when a new line opens at the grocery store, I don't get out of my line and run over there in front of people who have been waiting in line longer.

Funny story. My wife and I were online in Target several years back when they opened up a new register and the cashier made a general motion for people to move to her register, so we started moving to the new one. This lady then rudely flies in front of us proclaiming "she was motioning to me!" We LOL'd.

Bums. Beggers. Pan handlers. All over Florida. Everywhere. At every overpass, exit, gas station, and grocery store. Suburbs. Good neighborhoods. Lazy worthless able bodied people who have no shame.

There is a MAJOR labor sbortgage in construction too. Able bodied parasites that should be put to work. Has nothing to do with race. Whites, blacks, doesnt matter.

I hate them doing construction after 4 in the afternoon. In Houston, they always shut it down during rush hour when they had minor construction. Here in Atlanta I am always getting backed up by construction trucks parked in blocked off lanes during rush hour.

Not the ones who wait for the light to change and use the cross walk, but the ones who just dart out into traffic and expect that the person driving with the GREEN LIGHT should just be able to stop on a dime because THEY wanted to cross the street and not wait.

If I decide to cross the street, I usually look both ways and wait until there's enough time to cross without delaying traffic, in other words, show some courtesy to the people driving. Not some people, they just start walking then have the nerve to shoot a dirty look when people have to stand on the brakes to avoid hitting them.

Courtesy goes both ways.
