RE: Kent State vs Buffalo
Buffalo plays good defense and is very efficient with the basketball.

The Bulls have quite a few heavy hitters on their roster.

Junior guard CJ Massinburg leads UB in scoring at 18 points a game. He has earned All MAC honors in both of his first two seasons playing for Buffalo. He is also the teams leading rebounder. Right behind him in both categories is 6'8 junior Nick Perkins. Perkins averages 16 points and six rebounds per game.

Those are two of the ten players that average ten minutes or more on the floor for Buffalo. Two other players, 6'1 senior Wes Clark and 6'7 junior Jeremy Harris also average double digit points. "Must find balance."

Of those four players, Clark is the "worst" free throw shooter at 69%. That is actually quite a telling stat. Each of their 4 leading scorers shoots 70% or better from the line. That comes in handy when you reach the bonus.

This UB team is good. Next year's could be even better considering all of the production that they have coming back.

For the Flashes, I think tonight is about getting hot. If we see three guys in the box score hovering around 20 points, I think we could see a KSU K.O. But that is going to be a tall order. The University at Buffalo is MAC legit.

I made a note in a post last year about UBs youth then. Their athleticism has been a problem for us in recent years - hopefully we can play well at home as our trips up north haven't had good outcomes even when we had guys like Justin Green. If UB holds this team together and adds a piece I could see them having the potential to run the MAC the way we did in 2002.

I was going to say they have had a lot of good players not come back - Justin Moss, Lamonte Bearden, and Shannon Evans come to mind - but looking at the database, they have had a lot of 4-year players. Only 2 seniors this year.

Looking at Buffalo's schedule, since they're already done with Toledo, and with the rest of the MAC being down, this game at Kent State might be the best chance for someone to beat Buffalo.

Yea Evans left with Hurley, Moss was caught steeling money from a dorm room and kicked out of school, and Bearden failed a marijuana test if he had failed another he would have been booted so he went to WKU.

Scuttlebut is Beardens family wanted him to stay, and after he left he asked to come back but UB had already given his scholarship away.

We lose Wes Clark this year, he could stay another if he wanted but he's graduating and wants to move on.

Kent... at kent... is always a challenge for us, plus Ohio showed that if UB is a little off on their three point shooting that anyone in the conference can stay with us a bit.

If UB get's into foul trouble it could be a rough game for us... if Kent gets into foul trouble (especially with one of your better players) then UB should roll.

I'm at the game and am witnessing one of the worst interior defensive perdormances I've seen in a long time.

Good game guys... Not only did UB get into foul trouble but you guys were amazing from the charity stripe. I hope my Bulls learned a few things.
