I have said it once and I will say it again. Hillary Rodham Clinton is the gift that keeps giving. I hope she lives to be 120 years old and that the democratic socialist progressives keep kissing her ring...

To be fair, if you have any belief, you're turning off half the nation.

The Grammy's were awful and so were the artists. I thought the 70s had the worst music. I was wrong. This schit is the worst.

SNL had 2 of the best artists of this time period together on Saturday night. Chris Stapleton and Sturgil Simpson were great. One of the best SNL performances in decades. These two guys are the exception to todays bad music. They are real musicians and real song writers.

Their In memoriam have jumped the shark in recent years. This year, they added Lil Peep who had no recording album or single under his name, not even under a group for RAP was added, but left out several big name Grammy winners and nominees like Al Jarreau. Even my old classmate who was a drummer for Chainsaw Kittens charted one hit on the Alternative Rock charts had more records and singles under his belt than Lil Peep.

Becuase its not about their music anymore, its about the agenda they are pushing on the masses.

Particularly the more impressionable young people and kids.

They know full well most of the older generation finds them disgusting and strange.

It’s hard for me to imagine anything more boring than one of the awards-shows within the “entertainment” (so-called) industry. So it’s no surprise to me that the ratings are down.

But in all fairness, aren’t the ratings down for just about everything on TV, whether it’s politicized or not? Grammys, Oscars, NFL, Big Bang, whatever. Aren’t people just done with the whole steaming pile of sh*t and walking away from it?

Jay-Z gets shut out and wins no grammies

Like always, NG is one of the few here who gets it. I always enjoy the Grammys performances but I've gotten to the point where I'll just look for them online afterwards. You can pretty much get them on You Tube within minutes after they've aired - sift through the reviews and watch the ones you want. Boom you're done in minutes instead of wasting 3 1/2 hours.

Let's check out the SOTU ratings tomorrow, shall we and report in on those as well. Here's a tidbit about SOTU ratings from 2015 - I'm not sure how the ratings were in 2016 but probably they were down too.

Nearly 32 million Americans watched President Barack Obama's 2015 State of the Union address on television, the lowest turnout since President Bill Clinton's final State of the Union address in 2000, according to newly released Nielsen ratings.

Obama attracted 31.7 million viewers. Viewership for Obama's State of the Union addresses has been in decline since 2009, when he drew 52.4 million television viewers. Subsequently, 48.0 million watched on television in 2010, 42.8 million in 2011, 37.8 million in 2012, 33.5 million in 2013 and 33.3 million in 2014. This year's speech replaces last year's as the second-lowest rated since Nielsen began recording viewership in 1993.

Nielsen's totals are based off viewership for ABC, Al Jazeera America, Azteca, CBS, CNN, Fox, Fox Business Network, Fox News Channel, Galavision, MSNBC, MundoFox, NBC and Univision. They do not include digital livestreams.

The two genre's I like and listen to the most, Metal - Hard Rock and Christian Contemporary don't even get any airtime whatsoever. Instead we have performances and awards to every made up dumb sounding name on the planet.

And then last year when they get a great performance of Gaga and Metallica, the screw up the production.

The Grammy's became a joke when Jethro Tull beat Metallica for the Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Recording Grammy. That was 1989. The politics just makes the show that much worse.

Oh, cmon. Jethro Tull was heads and shoulders better than a head-bangers ball hair band. They even made the damn flute modestly cool!

lol, Aqualung was in 1971, this was 1989!!! I think it had more to do with the Grammys not wanting anything to do with heavy metal music so they gave it to Jethro Tull in the metal category. Seriously, Tull is/was metal? 01-wingedeagle

Yea, well.

Seems like just yesterday...

Honestly didn’t even know Tull was still playing in ‘89. Haha

Last saw them in ‘83/84 I think.

Big Events still draw people.

Awards shows are losing that designation due to the reasons stated above. You can YouTube whatever performances you wanna see after the fact and not have to sit through stuff you are not interested in a a ton of commercials.

Zero surprise Grammy numbers are down. Millennials don't watch crap like that and Gen X and Boomers who do still watch television don't have a clue who those people are and haven't heard the songs. My wife watched some red carpet show and changed channels when the show started. She said if Bruno Mars or Ed Sherrin performed she'd catch the clips on the internet but wasn't going to watch just for that.

To be fair, if you have any belief, you're turning off half the nation.

Not if you follow the Elvis example. When asked about something political he answered:

(paraphrased) I'm a singer. Nobody wants to know what I think.

He's the King for several reasons.

Lady GaGa had the most emotional performance during the Grammy's. She sang a song in tribute of an Aunt who died recently. Shock that Lady GaGa have not dressing up weird lately at award shows.
