If you told me the result of that play would've been a 30-foot heave + Bishop's hand in his face I take it every time. Defense was money for the most part, apart from Delph's 15-foot game. If anything the game was lost in the first 20.

Yep, got too far behind and couldn't put them away once we took the lead. Play both halves like the second and it's an easy win. Now we need to do this to somebody else to make it up.

Brutal loss, but quite the battleback after a horrific last 15 mins of the 1/2. Last 10 minutes of game was terrific. Team is coming around and I will take this team over Braun's team the year after the first mass exodus.

The only thing I wish we had done was to slow the ball coming down the court. I know they didn’t want to foul but a press would have made the shot much longer.

Think our recent history fouling shooters to end games probably played a factor.

ODU women pressed us with 3.8 left in the first quarter, forcing us to take a half court shot. Hopefully, Coach Pera will follow a similar strategy if the men find themselves in a similar situation to what they had Saturday.

Well, that's an interesting strategy to avoid a "10-men on the court" violation.

note: just making a play on words, as in "awww...crap" ... I think highly of Connor Cashaw (and uncle)

RE: Rice Men vs FAU
The game was really fun to see in person, especially in the 2nd half. FAU's Ronald Delph was great to watch in the paint and he had a deft mid-range jumper. He is only a junior and should be a serious force next year. However, despite his size advantage, Rice continually attacked the basket and was rewarded for their tenacity (in the 2nd half). Malik Osborne shook off a tough first half and played well the final 20 minutes. I really thought Connor Cashaw established himself as a leader on the floor for the Owls in the last 2 minutes. His shot with about 4 seconds left was a thing of beauty, establishing space and shooting with confidence. Malik was able to snag a 4th offensive rebound this year off a missed free throw by one of his team-mates (that I have seen, I have not been able to catch any away games). That is really tough to do. Rice only had 5 turnovers as well, and I thought FAU played pretty good defense.

The 4 Blocks were pretty nice and the team was competitive in the rebounding department overall, despite the size disadvantage.

The final shot for FAU was aided only a little by allowing Justin Massey to get some forward momentum before he launched the 3-pointer. If Rice had stopped that momentum there is probably no way he makes the basket.

I thought Rice made the right adjustments and put themselves in a position to win. I am pleased at this point with their recent progress and getting better as a team.

FAU's roster shows him as a redshirt senior this year.

2013-14 -- Redshirted at Auburn.
2014-15 -- Freshman at FAU (sat out due to transfer rules).
2015-16 -- Sophomore at FAU.
2016-17 -- Junior at FAU.
2017-18 -- This year, he's a senior.

The Stat sheet/game day roster that Rice provided at the game for fans indicated that Delph was a junior. Either the stat sheet was wrong or the transfer/redshirt combo will allow him an additional year of eligibility, assuming he petitioned the NCAA and it was granted
