RE: WMU vs Omaha 1/26/18
WMU took an absolutely useless penalty to give them that chance to score... it was so far away from the play and it was a WMU guy punching a dude when they got up off the ice.. RIGHT IN FRONT OF A REF!... Un-necessary bull sh1t... I can understand why Andy is so pissed at these guys... don't be stupid!

RE: WMU vs Omaha 1/26/18
UNO wins...

I have watched a TON of WMU hockey and I have never seen a game where we worked so hard to get so little... Culminated in a open net goal by UNO off a damn deflection... Are you kidding me...

We just look disconnected out there.. plenty of talent... but with so many guys playing out of position its like we just dont have any flow... We can move it quickly through the neutral zone but we lose it when we start to move it around the net...

Going to be tough to make the NCAA's playing like this...

WMU melts down and loses 6-2... because well... thats just what happens to us WMU fans... Scores 4 goals in less than 4 minutes to end the 3rd period...

Mcging likely going to be DQ'd for the next game too... stupid boarding play... Didn't need to make that play... WMU is playing some extremely un-disciplined hockey right now...

3-2 game with less than a minute 10 and we give up 3 goals... two empty nets and a blue line shot on our goalie with less than 25 sec to go... Just a pathetic game...

Sounds like it all came apart at the end. Your comment about a stupid penalty seems to be the theme with the way we are playing lately. Same thing in the second Colorado game. Players thinking of themselves instead of their team.

The one that was irritating was the time a WMU player literally punched a guy in the head when they were both getting up off the ice nowhere near the play and right in front of a ref... just stupid... That was the PP that UNO went ahead 3-2... WMU was controlling the play at the time having just tied it up... totally took the gas out of the team...

To me, this looks like a first round NCHC exit and barely missing the NCAA this year. No way we can go deep without Allison and conrad. I would love to be proved wrong

RE: WMU vs Omaha 1/26/18
There seems to be a huge leadership hole on this team... The lack of discipline can't just come from the HC.... we need guys on the ice keeping each other accountable... What we are seeing isn't that strange given the amount of youth being forced into play...

I noted earlier that I think its also going to take time for guys who are changing positions to get comfortable out there with each other... There were huge stints of play time last night where WMU was out hustling UNO all over the ice... they out shot them in every period... we just couldn't get the bounces to go our way... and UNO took advantage.

So the football season-killing injury bug infected hockey as well.

This! Cannot agree more, Sheldon dries was an Ian slater type captain and doesn’t seem to me like moldenhauer is that type of guy. Penalties continue to kill this team, when you’re killing penalties the whole game and you don’t have any your star scorers in the lineup, it’s going to greatly affect your game plan, lines, etc.

We took lots of bone head penalties last year as well we just had deeper scoring talent and when Dries and Allison went down last year we did not win **** either.

RE: WMU vs Omaha 1/26/18
Is there any timeline on Colt Conrad's return yet? Without him in the lineup it'll be difficult to compete.

If both Conrad and Allison would have been healthy come NCAA playoff time, I'd have given us maybe a 1 in 6 or 7 chance for a national title ... With these odds we could snag a title soon.

Our coaches have shown a lot of new looks, and continue to improve in light of the rapidly-changing hockey landscape. The coaches have an eye for talent that is starting to fit the league's vision well (I was looking at SCSU and Denver's penalty mins/game and they are low, for instance). Our scoring and skill is a beautiful thing to watch, especially when we're healthy. These are great developments.

As much as I'd been a fan of our physical play, I'm glad we're transitioning away from it. NCHC officials seem to have been a bit biased against us, but they're starting to recognize our adaptations. The drive for making hockey a less physical game has come rapidly over the last several years. It has affected many different sports, from the pros to the amateurs, and has especially punished teams like ours. This is a change that has made the game faster and safer and should be encouraged.

That's why a dirty hit like Jimmy's on Colt Conrad is even less tolerable. I heard that Colt's jaw was broken on this play. And I read that even so, the league refused to act. It puts a team like ours in a bad position. The head check on Conrad might possibly deny us a playoff spot now due to Colt's injury.

I wish the league would issue a special 2-game suspension for number 22, when SCSU plays WMU at Lawson. This is unlikely to happen, even though it would be in the best interest of all parties. As unbelievable as it may seem, I think it's imperative that our coaches and players take Jesus' advice, and turn the other cheek. Jimmy will probably face a physical couple of games on Feb. 16th and 17th. He should be out of Hobey Baker contention with no one to blame but himself. Unlike the league against us, I hope our team takes the high road.
