Just read an article that "intensity from the older guys" lacked and that's why so many younger guys saw action.

team or fans?
I enjoyed seeing the "bench." I didn't even know some of the names. They really showed up and played within the team. They're going to need some 3's coming off that bench to get through MACC and a first round game, should they get there.
Still.. the competition. Without getting into a pizzing match, this is still not team ball. It's MOSTLY watch the guy with the ball and worse on D. Probably not the best comparison but watching some Big10 games, specifically Purdue. The speed is outstandingly different. Not the players, the passes and the motion and the off-ball movement on D. If a pass comes in they have someone high and someone low. Dakota Mathias is very good at this, thinking ahead, seeing the pattern and putting himself in position to help defend. This is all within UT's skill set, particularly Sanford's. I just haven't seen it. They are very similar in their ability to shoot but UT even has an advantage in the size of their perimeter shooters.
I would love to see a purely defensive game, even if it means a loss. They have games to spare, I'd like to see depth on the court and focus on team defense until they can get that to the point they're also able to get out on offense.
Still a work in progress.

I disagree about this not being team ball. In my opinion, they are a really good passing team that shares the basketball.

No question, but they also run clear outs when they have a mismatch which is also great team basketball. Recognizing that Knapke had the little guy guarding him on switches at Kent and letting him work one on one (or Navi last night or Fletcher in nearly every game) takes some pretty good awareness and it’s obviously something they work on in practice. Having the kind of away from the ball movement we have plus guys who can create their own shot makes us awfully difficult to defend.

Of players with at least ten 3point attempts on the year, bench players Alderson and Roberts lead the way @ .500 and .444 respectively, attempting 16 and 18 shots. Knapke , also a “reserve”, is hovering around .440 with Marreon and Navigato. Not many teams have three guys on the bench with that ability, though most have a Microwave type guy who provides offense off the bench. Fletcher and Sanford, along with Navi the high volume guys, are the “worst” @ around .380.

I think most on this board would agree with you. To me, not even close, it is the part of their games which still has a steep learning curve. Particularly on D. On O, their passes and lanes are hardly even challenged against this competition. I've watched in real time and watched in replay and this is the opinion I come to, hence my comment about avoiding a pizzing contest. Assist stats, even the w-l record cannot measure beyond the reflection of the competition or what my eyes are telling me.
There's good individual talent and it seems to get better. As a team they seem close. These are good hallmarks.
