"He helped the Bald Eagles snap a 52-game losing streak, the longest in Division II, and in 2013 led LH to their most wins in a season in 10 years."

and they still only won 3 games that year...

WTF?!?!

RE: New WR coach
I like the hire. Plenty of experience and a former wide receiver I guess we'll all be looking for improvement.

RE: New WR coach
2 questions:

Can he recruit?
Can he develop talent?

If yes, welcome aboard.
If not, wtf?

RE: New WR coach
Offensive coordinator at pro/semi pro team sounds pretty good..... and they DID compete for 3 World Bowls!

I think Wilder may be picking coordinators that keep his HC position safe:
John Allen Head coaching record
Overall 5–37 (college)
2–8 (NFL Europe)

I used to go to ESPN for this sort of thing, but the last few years they have de-emphasized FCS to the point that you can't click on the FCS teams to see their schedules, stats, etc. Here's what I was able to get off the page:

.....................CONF...PF.....PA...OVER..PF....PA....STRK
Delaware State 2-6 133 262 2-9 158 420 L1

For context, their schedule can be found on their website here:
http://www.dsuhornets.com/SportSelect.db...PSID=82272

Their OOC games went like this:
Delaware -- L 22-3
West Virginia -- L 59-16
Florida State -- L 77-6

Last year the most points they scored in a game was 33 against Morgan State. 234 yards passing in that game with 16 completions and 4 touchdowns.

Delaware State scored 14.4 points per game last year. Average 6.7 yards per pass, 13.2 yards per catch. Averaged 280 yards of offense per game.

I'm not sure if these were the stats you were looking for or not. From looking at this for 5 minutes, I would say the answer to your question is: not very good.

Bobby Wilder is an FCS coach. This is all he knows. FCS or coaches from Maine.

He's the wide receivers coach, not the OC.

Wouldn't be the first time, for FB and MBB assistant coach staff changes.

RE: New WR coach
Quote:Allen comes to the Old Dominion football program after serving three seasons as the offensive coordinator at Delaware State. That coaching staff was dismantled after the Hornets finished 0-11 in 2016 and 2-9 in 2017. Head Coach Kenny Carter was not retained after the team went 3-30 in his three years at the helm. Coach Allen did have success with the offense in 2016, posting some of the best numbers for the program since the start of the decade.
