Looks like our hoops team we'll be in this tournament with Baylor, George Mason and one other TBA next season.

RE: 2018 Emerald Coast Classic
I'm only bringing them up because I scrolled past this on the way down to the Emerald Coast Classic, but this is Xavier's tournament:

Maui Jim Maui Invitational
Arizona Wildcats (Pac-12)
Auburn Tigers (SEC)
Duke Blue Devils (ACC)
Gonzaga Bulldogs (WCC)
Illinois Fighting Illini (Big Ten)
Iowa State Cyclones (Big 12)
San Diego State Aztecs (MW)
Xavier Musketeers (Big East)

Are we seriously never invited to those tournaments, or do we refuse to participate? I'm sorry, I just saw this and immediately got irritated.

It looks like this bad boy is aired on everyone's favorite CBSSN. A step.up from the grainy stream from someones smart phone in the Cayman Classic.

RE: 2018 Emerald Coast Classic
Mick said in an interview that Maui doesn't want us back because we didn't bring a lot of people. He said we were a late replacement for Louisville that year and didn't have enough time to really sell it to our supporters. I went to Maui for the first time in 2016 and I guarantee you if we ever go back I'm 100% in. The gym was less than 5 minutes from where I stayed and when someone told me that's where they played the Maui invitational I couldn't believe it.

Could you imagine the massacre X would take replacing their top scorers playing the greatest recruiting class of all time?

On top of that UC went to Maui coming off an awful two year stretch.

yeah - not bad at all when you see who UC beat and they lost to Gonzaga by 2 in OT in the championship.

RE: 2018 Emerald Coast Classic
They should've had two free throws to win the game. Gates got hacked late with the game tied.

Keep in mind too going to we were in the top 5 in the country in football at the time. Most of our supporters travel plans revolved around a once in a lifetime caliber team for our school.

If memory serves Yancy had his arm ripped off on an alley-oop at the end of regulation, no call. Such is the life of a UC fan...

Wasn't that also the year that we lost to WVU in the BEast Tourney when Dion dribble off his knee?

It was... then Butler banked in a 3 to beat us at the buzzer.

Yep...god...that was probably the difference between a tourney and the NIT.

I think there is still a fist mark on the table at Salem Gardens from that dribble OOB.

I doubt it. They probably needed at least one more...maybe even to win the conference tournament. They already had 15 losses and only went 7-11 in conference (really falling apart down the stretch). They did have some really good, resume building wins. Maybe they sneak in if they made the finals, but I am very skeptical beating WVU would have been enough.

Unless TBA is a headliner, this is decidedly a second tier tournament. Disappointing given the excuse we used to hear was that there were just too many alpha dogs in the (real) Big East and UC was too far down the pecking order. Not so in the AAC.

Well, UC's Final Four in 2018 will make all these other tournaments regret not signing up with the Bearcats.

I was the basement of my fraternity house with 70 other people watching on a projector. The only sound heard in that room after that was the saddest laugh I have ever heard in my life.

My guess is it is a P5 team, I think possibly an ACC team. Last year the tournament had 2 P5s, a MWC, an A10 and 4 low major teams.

Also this is going to be shown on CBS Sports, which is better than the streaming site the Cayman’s was broadcast on.
