Agree. Not sure where he will play. Guess it depends on how fast he is for his position, but looks like football.player.

Romeo McNight, a 6'4" DE from Crystal Lake, Ill. is transferring from Iowa. Don't recall if we offered him back in 2015-2016. If he has to sit out would still have two years to play.
UPdate; he's going to Illinois State

Valenti didn't play for STA in their televised game yesterday. Don't know if he is hurt or didn't earn the job. Might not have been such a good move to go to Florida his senior year.

RE: 2019 Official Recruiting Thread
NIU historically has shown an ability to develop RB's whether large (Michael Turner,Charles Talley, Harbison)Small ( Garrett Wolf,) or Average sized (Thomas Hammock, Chad Spann) Runninga backs who want to make a name for themselves should want to play in DeKalb.
Right now the #1 rated Fullback in the country(Rivals) is an undecided. Jax Dineen, Lawrence, KS has 5 FBS offers AFA, Army,Tulane, Kansas & SO Miss plus FCS from ND ST, South Dakota, ISU & WIU.
If he doesn't want a military career and wants to play in a program with a legit chance to bowl every year, NIU could be a great fit. With NIU's penchant for big backs, am surprised he hasn't been offered yet.
Signing the #1 ranked player at any position would make a statement and getting one at a position where historically the program has shown it can develop talent, even more so. Huskie coaches have also recruted the state of Kansas and there are some Kansas players on the roster which I doubt Tulane and SO Miss can say. Kansas hasn't played in a bowl game in at least 10 years while NIU has bowled nearly all of those years.

Chad Spann had 22 rushing TD's in 2010 and 19 in 2009. TD"s more important than yards. Joel Bouagnon had 18 in 2015

I think we have too many wr, rb. They may be young but nothing wrong with playing them. Not enough passes to go around.
Cb next year should be adding 2 of our top rated recruits this year as rs freshman too.

JC hunting is a terrible way to build a program. It should be used in very limited situations. Better to bring in freshman, redshirt them and play them after a full year in a college weight training program.
If the cupboard is bare, there is no excuse and Carey should be given the boot. Then hire a good coach that rebuilds the program for long term success with freshman recruits.
