Yes, the attendance numbers are in the media guide archives. I haven't had time to see how far they go back, but the media guides go back to 1953.

Edit: Thanks tiger87 for the link posted. I looked at those archives some last night. Lots of good info in them.

Just go to this year's media guide and go to the Liberty Bowl Stadium section. It typically shows average attendance for the full history of the stadium.

I am a season ticket holder, attended the monsoon game, and the others. I think attendance is very important to the program. However, every school in the country reports tickets sold as attendance. With Memphis having sold 24,000 season tickets and then reporting actual monsoon game attendance of about 10,000, we were screwed in the attendance battle from the beginning. And it is a battle we need to consistently win. Attendance is the only true measurement of fans interest and support of a program and Memphis needs to be the top non P5 supported team if we ever have hopes of continuing to grow the program.
