MyBB Worst beatdown ever
After suffering historic beatdowns at the hands of conference foes SMU, UCF, Cincy the past two years, and the ensuing countless threads here reminding us of such, I am surprised (not really) that no one has pointed out that we just dealt UConn the worst beatdown we have ever put on them. Bad team or not, always fun to beat those guys.

BTW, Ollie has signed 2 5-stars and 6 4-stars over the past 4 recruiting classes - if we need another reminder that recruiting is not enough. (rich man's Josh Pastner ?)

If Tubby's seat is hot, NCAA Champ Ollie's seat is ablaze.

Yes and I think 2 of them were sitting on the bench the other night. One was medical, don't know about the other player.

If Ollies seat is not on fire their fanbase\admin doesn't care...They have 3 times the tradition of Memphis so they should expect more than Memphis fans

They've got the same problem we'd have trying to get rid of Tubby at the end of the year. His seat may get hot, but it'd be very expensive to fire him.

Ridiculous.

He won a NC in 2014, people.

Yep. Ollie's not going anymore.

And hope UConn gets back quickly. If us, UConn, Houston, SMU can play to the level that Cincy and Wichita State consistently do, what a great conference we could have.

Yep, like I said when people were comparing Tubby and Pastner using only NCAA success during concurrent years coaching -- according to that metric, Kevin Ollie's way better than Billy Donovan.

Nobody has made a big deal about us beating up on UCONN because this fan base is not dumb. We know when something is smoke and mirrors

However, I believe that Ollie's championship was based on the work that Calhoun had done, similar to how Tubby's was based on the work done by Pitino. Now that the program is fully in Ollie's hands, it has dropped off, much like Kentucky did.

Fact but it took Kentucky like 9 years to pull the trigger on Tubby.

Not disagreeing with what you are saying just the OP's exaggeration.

Ollie's seat is barely lukewarm, probably more like room temperature.

Agree. Tubby did ok, but not up to blueblood standards. Lots of SEC titles and tournament trips. Ollie has been a much bigger drop off, but he's probably still safe.

Kentucky's name and the boosters recruited players.

Tubby coached them and started Saul.

LOL.

Most Kentucky fans were absolutely livid and wanted Tubby gone years before he was let go.

Sound familiar?

Yep, reminds me off Josh in that way. I didn't pay much attention to KY back then (or now). I'm sure they wanted him gone though. Coaches get fired all the time. Almost 100% deservedly. I have a hard time thinking of too many raw deals. When it's time to go, it's time to go.

Where is our coach hiring barometer trending about now?

Think we could hire a Billy Donovan or a Tony Barbee?

A couple of people around here would very leery of the latter.

Seems one ole boa got stared down at Newby's while the other got choked out by an Ole Miss fan.
