Wow, I would hate to have this much hate for a football coach. Relax dude, spend some time with your family. Having this much animosity towards anyone is not healthy.

Man it's not just Kiffin and FAU I'm upset at. All of college athletics is in the gutter. I'm calling out FAU, but just about every university in the nation is guilty of it. The 'win at all costs' attitude has ruined everything.

You act like that just started let me clue you in on something....

its always been that way. We just didn't have the Internet or 24/7 news and sports shows to tell us about it. You are naive if you don't think it's been this way for the last 50 to 60 freaking years

Most fans would accept that opinion from jealous fans. I say jealous because as I pointed out....if he's "our" scum it's all of a sudden worth it.

You might think your team or fans are different...you're not. You will gladly embrace the scum (you word) if it meant winning. Again, you can say other wise today but I've seen it too many times.

My ass. Rice would never hire a coach like Kiffin, or bring in players who are nonqualifiers or who assault defenseless women. There's integrity at Rice. It's one of the few places left that does things the hard way. Don't even attempt to make us part of your company. Way to admit that you have no moral compass.

But let let felonies stay in school 2011

Four Rice football players have been arrested in the past week on charges ranging from felony possession of a firearm to misdemeanor drug possession and theft.
Reserve defensive end Cody Bauer and offensive lineman Cade Shaw were arrested on Saturday for possession of a firearm in their on-campus residence, according to Harris County court records.
Both posted a $5,000 bail bond and were released from custody.
Cornerbacks Kevin Gaddis and Phillip Gaines were arrested in a separate incident Monday.

Phillip Gaines & Cody Bauer played roles in Rices one and only championship in 2013

Yes to me winning matters. So what is your opinion on the video I posted of a female getting knocked out by a cop for barely touching him While she was being held?

Guns, I was just getting ready to point out his hypocrisy regarding the 2011 thugs... What a troll.

Ok go 1-11 every year. I live in south Florida and the truth is kids growing up playing football at the best program come from tough areas and many have made mistakes. I don't judge them because that's part of the reality of football and I do not pretend that kids that play a violent gladiator type sport don't come from violent backgrounds sometimes.

YOUR TEAM IS NOTE FULL OF CHORIE BOYS NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU TELL YOURSELF IT IS.

I'd much rather go 1-11 from time to time and endure some losing seasons than bring in a bunch of troublemakers and win. And coming from a tough neighborhood doesn't excuse "mistakes.". Over the years Rice has had players from low socio-economic environments. The difference is that they overcame the obstacles, did their school work, and stayed out of trouble. There aregood people in bad neighborhoods. Weak argument.
This is why Rice would rather be affiliated with other like-minded institutions. Public and private schools don't see eye-to-eye. Our cultures are very different. Private schools mostly try their best to recruit players who are good students and who stay out of trouble, while public schools take anyone who can catch a ball.

So now it's find something else, I thought once was too much? The point is Rice did what they had to do to win a championship. Did you call those players scum? Or your coach scum for letting them stay on the team?

You never answered my question about the video of the cop knocking out the 110 pound drunk girl.

Why would I want a judgmental, hypocritical person like you to pray for me? I believe in redemption and giving people a chance to over come a mistake. You don't....so maybe someone should pray for you? Do you know of anyone that is perfect except you?

I don't know what your question was, but the cop had every right to smack that drunk girl who slapped him. She needed it. You don't resist arrest and you sure as hell don't swing at a policeman. What he did was lawful.

Wait a minute I thought you said no man should ever do that...did you not say that?
So a badge gives him the right to knock out a drunk girl for getting touched by her finger? So now a full closed hand is called a smack? Hell he looked to be about 270 and all muscle, could have killed her, right?. But you or I can't protect ourself from a drunk that punches? I believe the same self defense laws apply to all of us. The police have a different level of protection with deadly force...as it should be. This drunk college kid was shamed into pleading it out.

What he did was wrong, just as what that cop did was wrong. Both could have and should have been handled differently

Best of luck to Jason and welcome to the brotherhood in May. Probably a good idea to skip spring football and start studying for the Fundamentals of Engineering test anyway.

From what I understand, his Grade average is high enough, so if he wanted to go to Grad School, he could.

You found one isolated incident. Congratulations. That doesn't change the fact that schools like Rice always do their very best to keep bad apples out of the program. Rice doesn't offer to kids who have been in trouble with the law, and it doesn't take players who have very little cognitive ability. That's what sets it apart from a school like FAU and WKU. You guys knowingly bring in players who have been in trouble, have poor character, and who also have very little ability outside of athletics. You take chances because you're so driven to win. You have low standards. This isn't me being an elitist, it's me stating the truth.

See if you can find much else. These kind of incidents are few and far between. I'm challenging you.

So now it's find something else, I thought once was too much? The point is Rice did what they had to do to win a championship. Did you call those players scum? Or your coach scum for letting them stay on the team?

You never answered my question about the video of the cop knocking out the 110 pound drunk girl.

Like I said....I like winning and I already stated I believe in redemption. So your point is that at the age of 17, 18, 19, 20 if you made a mistake. There's no help for you?

Let me ask you again....why do you pray? Or maybe I should ask you who do you pray to? BTW I'm not bible thumping person. I hardly ever go to church but unlike you I do believe in the teaching of the bible on forgiveness . So again who do you pray to?

You never answered my question. Did you call those kids that broke the law while at Rice...scum? Did you call the coach at Rice scum for allowing them to play? Did you call Rice scum for allowing them to stay in school?

I really don't think so......

Doesn't believe in 2nd chances (unless it's his school). Calls people scum. Yet you offered to pray for me.

Quote:Kiffin is scum. FAU deserves any and all backlash it gets

Woah there, let’s not act like FAU is somehow an academically inept University. Sure, it’s no Rice but FAU is one of the better schools in this conference. When I graduated our accounting program was first in Florida and 11th in the US. Harbor Branch is a top tier marine engineering facility and the college of nursing/medicine is paving the way for Alzheimer’s research. Do you even have a degree from Rice or do you just look down on every public University?

He is graduating in May and hanging around would have meant he has to register for a graduate degree. It is quite possible he wants to get out there and advance professionally. Sounds like he truly is interested in the pursuit of his specialty and he does not want to miss an entire year.

Yea, he is in the FAU engineering program which is like a 140 credit program.
Why go to grad school for that will do nothing to advance his degree when by summer of 2018 he will have a nice six-figure engineering job.

You never answered my question about the video of the cop knocking out the 110 pound drunk girl.

Whoa. Hold on. What that cop did was completely justifiable. That girl was publicly intoxicated, resisting arrest, causing a major public disturbance, and was attempting to slap a policeman. Everyone knows that you don't even touch a policeman. It took six cops to physically pick her up and remove her. He had every right to subdue her, and at that moment, all he had was one free hand, so he popped her with it. More power to him. It's his job. I have no tolerance for anyone who disrespects authority in that way. She showed no respect.
On the other hand, the new FAU player could have just walked away. He could have held her arms in defense until security intervened. He's a stupid kid who lost his head. He deserves forgiveness and a second chance, but that incident should have been more than enough to steer coaches away from him. It wasn't.

That's rich. I'm a Christian. I pray to Jesus Christ to forgive me for all my sins, and trust me, there are plenty. To answer your question concerning the incident, I don't honestly remember how that situation was handled, but it was done internally. I don't know why the player had a gun, but it definitely wasn't allowed on campus, that I can assure you. If that player had done anything similar to that in high school, he wouldn't have been recruited to Rice. I do believe in forgiveness. I believe in second chances and redemption, but at the same time you can't have players on campus who you even slightly suspect might give your university a bad name. So in that regard, I believe in tough love. Let those players prove themselves at a junior college. Give them time to grow up and learn from their mistakes. By all means, don't reward them by handing them a football scholarship to a major FBS university. That's where we don't agree. And yes, I will still pray for you tonight.
