Illini quarterback Jeff George announced he is transferring as a grad transfer. Any news of where he plans to go? I'm just assuming another P5 program but any chance he is considering us? Would we want someone for a year or should we continue to develop Childers, Hall, and the rest?

He doesn't fit the system at all and he just plain stinks. No thanks.

His numbers weren't very good last year so I don't believe we'd want him. However, I don't know if that was because of a bad team or his fault. Illini are hurting right now.

Illinois should be taking our throw aways, don't be dazzled by the Pig10 patch on their jerseys.

He doesn’t fit Huskies style of offense at all.

Their other QB announced he was quitting football 2 hours after George announced he was transferring. They lost 2 QBs within 2 hours. I'd say they are definitely hurting.

Lovie Smith mentioned how they were hurting at quarterback during the season. He basically threw all the quarterbacks under the bus.

The clock is ticking on Lovie for sure. Their schedule next year is tough.

That USF game at Soldier Field the 3rd week of Sept could be ugly, Penn state is among their crossover games.

For those looking to see Rod Carey go see SBNATION article on 1-13. Review of past season mostly positive till mentioning Carey at end. NIU offense on decline each year under Carey and states defenses have figured out how to stop the 4 plays the offense runs. Another opinion Carey cannot develop talent.

1-11inois has only 1 scholarship QB on roster.

And NIU had more Big 10 wins than Illinois last year. That never gets old.

Agree, in the right system. NIU would be not be a good fit for him, nor would he be a good fit for us. We just had a pro style QB who was younger, and likely better, transfer because he didn’t fit. So, I don’t know why we would have any interest.
