Next up, at Louisiana Tech. They’re sitting at 3-5 in CUSA with a 2-game win streak vs. the same teams we just beat. So far our only road win was at Alabama A & M. A “W” in Ruston would go a long way towards us finishing in the upper half of the league.

no doubt HP.....we're definitely a jekyll/hyde team (home vs. road)

RE: USM Wins 82-75
Records of the 7 teams we've beat so far:

4-15 YSU
6-11 Troy
2-17 A A&M
6-12 UTEP
7-10 UTSA
2-16 Rice
8-10 UNT
35-91 combined record

Records of the 10 teams we've lost to:

15-5 Michigan
14-5 South Dakota
10-7 Northern Colorado
9-9 USA
14-5 FSU
13-5 MSU
13-6 Marshall
13-6 WKU
11-7 UAB
13-5 MTSU
125-60 combined record

Records of remaining opponents and predicted W/L based on our performances of previous teams:

LT 10-9 (loss)
FIU 6-11 (win)
FAU 6-10 (win)
ODU 15-4 (loss)
UNCC 4-13 (win)
MTSU 13-5 (loss)
UAB 11-7 (loss)
UTSA 7-10 (win)
UTEP 6-12 (win)
LT 10-9 (loss)

We can't beat teams that are somewhat decent. We can beat teams that are terrible. We'll probably finish with a 12-15 type record. What seed will that put us in the conference tourney? Does it even matter?

Considering how bad we’ve played on the road I don’t see us winning all 4 of these road games. I realize the previous road losses have been against some of our better competition but to sweep both these road series will be a difficult task.

RE: USM Wins 82-75
I think we’ll lose to Tech next week and beat them when they come to us. We won’t win all 4 of those road games. That’s just difficult to ask. Especially against UTSA as well as they score. We’ll have a shot to beat UAB and ODU at home. I think we are a year away from being able to beat MTSU. I think we go either 8-10 or 9-9 in league play. That will put us around a 7-10 seed in the tournament. Which means we’ll play another 7-10 team in the first round. I think on a neutral floor we will probably win that game. Then we’d get one of the top 2 teams most likely, and I can’t see us winning that game.

Now I could see a scenario where we steal a game or 2 that we shouldn’t and end up as the 6 seed. That puts you in a much better position where you get the 11 seed first round which should be a win. Then you’d get the 3 seed second round which is much more doable. IMO Western and MT are the 2 best teams and we are a year away from beating either one. Whoever the 3 seed ends up being would be much more winnable.

The 2 games with La Tech are huge. They are below us in the standings but are better than they have shown so far. Maybe their best player (Bracey) has been slowed by an injury and they really struggled without him. Now he’s back close to 100% and they’ve played better lately.
