Dion Dixon had a great habit of yelling “OOOHHH!” When he got fouled.

Dixon was a 4 year Bearcat. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/pla...xon-1.html

say what? huh. man, sh!t's crazy. coulda sworn he was a juco

Jamaul Warren was a JUCO from around that time I think...he's the only one I could think off. Williams was a transfer from Texas, and those were the only two non-recruits I remember from the mid to late 00's. Maybe Jihad Muhammad too.

dion's class was one of mick's more impressive ones. the big east was losing steam towards the end, but it was still the big east. and i was never happier. god. that first year in the aac was heartbreaking. it was too good to be true

Yeah, that class really set the foundation for where we are now and also got us the furthest we've been. Yancy, Cash, and Dixon all contributed relatively early (hell, there was an under-riding tone that Cash may have started sans ACL injury too) and often for their whole careers here.

2 of the last 3 years of the old big east... national champs came from the big east

and recruiting from the old big east led 2 out of the 3 years after it seperated to come from the old big east.

4 national champs in 6 years... 3 different teams, not sure how that was "losing steam"

In addition to the stats above, Gary will finish 5th in career blocks as well (he currently has 175, won’t catch Justin Jackson who is #4 on the list with 219).

Where are you getting those career stats? I looked on gobearcats.com in the bearcat record book looks like it hasnt been updated in a few years. Kilpatrick and Justin Jackson are not on there.

If Evans stays for another year he could challenge for a top 5 spot on that list.

Ehhh...I don't think he's the kind of guy who could average 18-20ppg honestly. He would need a long run with some quality performances these next two weeks to be able to challenge Fortson/Vaughn.
