So what’s the story behind him de-committing from Virginia?

from a distance...........Just reading between the lines with online facts from other sources ..........................
When at Arizona State coach Todd Graham signed a high school qb Bryce Perkins. After a frosh injury Perkins left ASU, recovered and lead Arizona Western JC to the National JC Championship game.
Todd Graham is now coach at Virginia & needed a QB so recruited Perkins.
Please draw your own conclusions
Trivia: The winning QB in that championship game was of course Lindsey Scott.

Actually Armstrong, former Minn commit, verballed one day and Rector decommitted
the next day. Perkins verballed about 10 days later. Both were rated above Rector.

RE: QB Wyatt Rector
My guess is Tim Lester can read a young QB better than most coaches just because of his background. Any QB rated within top 30 in the country has to be a good prospect at G5 level. When was the last time a top 30 QB came to WMU?

Yes it does. Likely Lester was highest rated to sign before that. He indicate he had offers from Florida and UCLA before his knee was injuried in HS

Tim Hiller was ranked #37 out oh HS.

Interesting day with Bronco hockey & basketball both on tv. Suppose he attends hockey game.
The FAU quarterback just ‘retired’. He’s from Florida. Hmmmm....

RE: QB Wyatt Rector
Saying "top 30 QB" is a little misleading because they have separate rankings for pro-style vs dual threat. In any case bringing in two high level QBs with P5 offers can only be a good thing.

He was going to end up on the third team. Robison, transfer from Oklahoma, will be the Owls' starter.

He’ll be fourth or maybe even fifth team at WMU...or redshirt.

Before or after he was hurt? Spurrier was after him at Florida until the knee deal

Only one reason he’d pick Kent, he wants a guarantee of starting.

RE: QB Wyatt Rector
I hope he's smart enough not to pick the dumpster fire over at Kent.
They have very little talent on their roster and currently the worst recruiting class in all of FBS. Worse yet, their administration and fan support are bottom of the barrel.
Plus, Kent already signed a JuCo QB.
