WASHINGTON (AP) — A Republican senator is denouncing President Donald Trump's use of the terms "fake news" and "enemy of the people" to describe the news media and stories he doesn't like.

Trump's attacks were reminiscent of words infamously used by Russian dictator Josef Stalin to describe his enemies.

Trump wants laws to stem the free press of news reports that he does not like when it is true. Trump tried to sue a newspaper over an article in the past, and the judge ruled against him him he is a public figure.
