Our critics will continue to suggest that UC is breezing through a conference with just one other worthy opponent (WSU) and still has not beaten a ranked team. It's hard to argue that point as the AAC appears to have an enormous gulf between WSU/Cincy and the rest. UCF missed a lot of shots in the first half when they might have put UC away. Success against a team that makes some of those shots and defends at or near the UCF level will tell the tale.
This UC team has a chance to change the program's perception nationally if it can win the AAC and/or advance past the first weekend in March. Only then will UC change the recurring narrative of many about not winning in the postseason--arguably the final step in rebuilding.
This is true, but we missed many of the same type of shots. The funny thing is we both shot 25 percent in the first half. What bothered me was the discrepancy in rebounding first half.

Bolded: Clark and Evans are the REAL deal.
HELP! Do I fly to Florida for the weekend of the Tulsa game or should I be there for Gary's senior day? It's the only time I can get south all winter but I think I have to be at BB&T that Sunday afternoon.

ED: NM, espn had 30 seconds consisting of 3 dunks. i guess that's the best we're going to get.
Thx Racine. i like the fact that Gary was dunking in "traffic." On to ECU. The more i look at our record, the more i wish we could run back the UF game. That was a total missed opportunity.

What an ugly ******* game. That first half was one of the worst things I've ever seen. I've seen execution videos/ISIS beheadings that were less offensive than how we played.

Anyway.... Onto the next one!
x2. I just hope we don't have one of these in the tourney. You just don't know what to expect on the road/neutral court with UC.
But, it's just one of 30-something games, stuff happens. It's a road win.
I see UCF Offensive Efficiency is now #303 on teamrankings.com (they sit #6 in Defensive Efficiency, UC now #1 Defensive Efficiency). UCF really needs that scorer they just got back from injury to get in shape quick.

I think part of it might be in our guys heads. I saw a hesitancy that isn't typical of them at all. And on that note, kudos to Gary Clark.
I firmly believe it's circumstance and logistics that dictate the reality we live in and how successful we are, not spirit; but what you saw last night was a man willing a team to victory.

If we win a game in the Tourney 49-38, I'll take it.

Well said! Gary struggled down there last season up against a guy 10 inches taller. Last night, he just took it to him. We've got to treasure every game with Clark the rest of the way and live in the moment. We'll worry about next season, next season but I don't know of anyone who doesn't believe Clark's are truly big shoes to fill.

One other thought on last night's game: I saw some C-Paws and red shirts in the stands and I'm wondering what kind of crowd UC brought for a weeknight game in Orlando? Our fans seemed loud and proud in Tampa when UC opened a big lead against USF. Lots of Cincinnati folks freezing down there this January rather than up here and it's great to hear the cheers when UC scores or takes control of the game.

Yep. Hell, I'll take a 39-28 win, especially if it's in the 2nd weekend or beyond.

I might not be able to watch a 39-28 win in the Sweet 16... Last night I had to tune out for a minute before last part of half. I feel better given we lost down there last year. I think we'll perform better when they come up to BB&T. In the mean time, I look forward to seeing the team shore up their numbers against ECU.

My son was there sporting his #23 SK jersey! He lives in Orlando and is a student at UCF.
