Overstreet
What’s the deal with Overstreet? Is he injured or is Coach Forbes going to redshirt him for next season? Did he use a redshirt during the Bartow years? I can’t remember that far back.

RE: Overstreet
He redshirted Bartow's last year. This should be his last year and I guess he isn't going to play. No way he would have a chance to work his way into the rotation at this point, right?

RE: Overstreet
I thought someone posted here after the start of the season that he was injured and likely would not play. Probably wouldn't have played much anyway though.

See posts #11 and 12 on the Delaware St. thread, and posts #37 and 38 on the Troy St. thread, for some partial info.

Apparently it was Forbes who disclosed the injury during the pre-game show for the Savannah St. game.

RE: Overstreet
I think he still has one year left after this one, if he wants to use it.

RE: Overstreet
Yesterday morning on AM640 Coach Forbes advised that Overstreet had participated in practice this week. Bobby Rader asked if he might be playing later this year; Coach didn't commit but indicated he might stating he'd have to "work himself into the rotation".

RE: Overstreet
There's a real value to having big guys to work against the starters. Elite programs like UNC go looking for "preferred walkons", less to play in games than to make their top line guys better.

Guys like Overstreet can be an important part of the program, even if they rarely get in games.

RE: Overstreet
He was wearing a uniform during warmups sat .
Does that mean he is using any elgibilty he has left ?

He could provide a bigger post to practice against as noted above.

Even use him if we got into deep foul trouble at the post position.

All of this is assuming he can move effectively enough to even play.
