It doesn't hurt that we hate each other's guts and winner gets #1 spot. No way this game doesn't get picked up on real live actual tv somehow next year, after our conference jumped 10 spots or something in kp.

I can't wait to see this game. Two teams worthy of a bid, but we know how that works.

For you or anyone else that wants to come but doesn't have tix there are still 30ish tickets available on stubhub. They range anywhere from $65-$240 a piece. Here's the link: https://www.stubhub.com/western-kentucky...qtyq=false

For sure. You talk about taking the wind of out the sails. Losing to UAB at home would take quite a bit of luster off the MTSU game. I don't see this team wilting like recent Topper teams so I imagine if UAB wins they will have to have out shoot and just beat them by playing a really good game.

Nope. People are sick of being stuck at home from the snow, and the first home game in weeks. 03-cloud9

We actually might get close. Buzz around town for this team is only growing. Everyone is talking. If USB wasn't at 8 pm I'd expect 6k. If we win these games the buzz will keep growing. The la tech game was a good environment.

Actually in press release that listed the top crowds since our renovation in 2003, 3 of them included FIU so you are wrong again....

I just hope we win tonight, cannot wait to be there Saturday but a win tonight will be a good lead in to Saturday...

Don’t be silly. TIBL jabs we sell out because a ‘name’ team is coming. Lofl. It is a name Western fans know more than any other save maybe UAB in this conference. It actually surpasses UAB because of the really old former OVC fans. Middle’s recent success certainly plays into it. But it’s not like an SEC or an ACC team is coming. We get all the fringe fans when those guys come in. This game is going to be more true Western fans.

And it’s silly to act like Middle doesn’t build up Western as their biggest calling card. Hell, a couple years ago (maybe more...time blurs at my age) you guys just happened to choose the Western game to honor some old guy that was either retiring or dying or something. He was mucho beloved and him being honored was mucho played up. And it just happened to be the Western game. Then when you were leaving the Sun Belt and thought you were leaving us behind you built up an entire week around the Western men and women’s teams. Hyping it the last time we’d be playing each other. Lol.

Reading this list reminds me how lucky I was to be a student at WKU during CLee's years. I was at all the bolded games in the student section. Still my best memories of WKU. My friends and I still talk about some of the those games from time to time.

A few years? Good lord I was a little off. That happened in 2004. Sad story. 69 is not that old to me. Too young to go. I can’t believe it was that long ago. I knew I didn’t just make it up. Thanks for the article.

I worked for Dr. Todd while I was in college, for my work scholarship. Great man who loved him some MT hoops.

Operation Full House was not really just about honoring Dr. Todd. Hell, he made it happen. He went for months, knowing that he had inoperable cancer, speaking to local civic clubs and organizations, basically going door-to-door because he wanted to see one more sellout before he passed. One man did more than our entire athletics department could do (then and now).

I heard his grandfather was instrumental in getting the university to Murfreesboro, way back in the day.

I was a student then too, and I distinctly remember heckling the salukis as they left the court. I miss the bridgestone invitational, that was a lot of fun.
