This is not actually about compensation. This is about the fact that the top graduates from the top schools are disproportionately foreign nationals. Microsoft is paying market value for them, they're living in BC after all, not some third world country.

Solutions:
1) Not let them in to study, saving the slots for Americans. That might be the Trump approach, and it's the easy one, but I think it's the wrong one.
2) Improve our education system, particularly in the STEM area. This is harder, but much better in the long run.

Americans have a hard time competing. We're getting their best and their brightest and often students older than our average. Certainly ones more mature. My nephew 20 years ago said all the Americans dropped out of EE and switched to computer science or something else.

The foreign students should not be allowed in, period.

it's a simple numbers game that we now have in resourcing....

The problem is that we are short of people filling the doctors and nurses. The people in the medical field is getting too old, and we have way too many people than we have doctors, nurses, hospitals and so forth. Large cities with few hospitals like LA will have issues in the future if some kind of outbreak gets out, and all the beds are filled, and many are left without care.

No because they have one member of the legislative body for just under every 66,000 citizens instead of one per 744,000 like the US house or one per 3.24 million like the Senate. Takes huge money to run for Congress in the US and people who want that sort of healthcare aren't parting with enough in the form of campaign donations to make it happen.

Each Norwegian member of parliament represents about the same number of people as the mayor of Jonesboro, Arkansas. The average US House member represents more people than the mayor of Seattle.

That makes campaigning expensive to reach people.

Under oath, Scy Nielsen testified multiple people used profanity during meeting multiple times under questioning by Dicky. Lots of crosstalk going on during meeting.

Sounds like a common profanity laced, tough talk meeting.

Heck in the UK there was a kid suffering from a rare condition and not only would the state not try experimental treatments on him... They also forbade the parent from bringing him to the United States where the treatment was going through clinical trials.

When we become more like Norway we can.

When we have 5 million people and offshore oil and gas production that produces something like $20K/year per capita, hell, yes, we can be like Norway, if we want to.
