Weather.com says less than one inch monday night. Accuweather says 58% chance of 1-3" accumulation, 20% chance 3-6", 18" chance 1" under, 4% chance of nothing or next to nothing.

All campuses of u of m are closed. I figured they would cancel the game tonight but no word yet.

This ain't HS.
So it's too dangerous to have students come to class, but it's ok for a basketball game?

It's gonna be dangerous for everyone driving. Be careful if you go. You might know how to drive in the weather, but there are so many drivers in memphis with ragged out vehicles that have no insurance, registration or drivers licenses so they have nothing to lose if they hit someone.

Liability with mandatory classes.

Roads aren't too bad. Just have to go about half the normal speed.

Love me some Crowder MS. Used to drop Sunday papers for that whole area. They still have panthers down there? Being serious

Much like has now been confirmed in W TN, there are unsupported/unconfirmed sightings of mountain lions in the Tallahatchie River bottoms (and bear too). But black panthers as in the Everglades are likely only myth. But pretty good duck hunting in the eastern delta down toward Charleston MS! BTW, our Memphis team has grown some followers down this way due to the success of Henderson & Goodson.

They are in Hardeman County .

The TWRA has officially admitted that cougars are in Tennessee and it seems likely that black panthers would be, too. I'm still certain the attacks in Cordova a few years ago were a cougar, as was the video take on Highway 64.

FWIW, I recall speaking with park rangers some years ago confirming there are likely some cougars all along the Wolf River basin.

I hear cougars are regularly spotted at Germantown Fresh Market around lunchtime.

If our game got cancelled, think of how funny that would be to Conn folk. Not that I care. They're nasty, rude people.

That they are! And taking about being delusional. 3 years ago they were saying their FB program was much better than ours because of one bowl they went to.

RE: More snow Monday Night (TR)
Excerpts from tnwf.org

article from tnwf.org

Today the panther is extinct in Tennessee, save possibly a half dozen individuals in the Great Smokies.”

In 2011 a cougar that originated in the Black Hills area made national headlines when it was discovered that it had traveled an astonishing 1,500 miles before being struck and killed on a roadway in Greenwich, Connecticut. This marked the first time in more than 100 years that a cougar had been seen in that state.

“Not too long ago you could walk into a pet store and purchase a cougar kitten. Who knows what happened to all those animals.”

“Wild black panthers have never existed in the wild in North America,” said Hunter. Linzey agrees. “There’s never been a melanistic cougar found anywhere.”

Adding even more confusion are the many hoaxes that have made their way across the Internet. Pictures of cougars taken in other states have in recent years been passed off as being from any of a number of Tennessee counties.

Nearly everyone agrees that it’s only a matter of time before cougars make their way back into Tennessee’s woods."

From personal experience in the 1960s and 70s I lived in east Memphis and my neighbors living on Minden Road kept cougars (mountain lions) in cages in their back yard.

It sounds like there are wandering cougars from out west and Florida entering the Southeast United States as well as pet cougars that have escaped or been released in Tennessee.

But, there are no black cougars, ever anywhere. There are black leopards, also possibly released or escaped from captivity.

I caught a cougar (tan colored) on vhs in the 90s. I’ll have to see if I can find it. Game warden might be interested.

They have those toothless cougars in Hardeman county. Don’t ask me how I know.
