Maybe if Smith had done a better job at both retaining old and getting new talent for him to play with, he wouldn't feel like he needed to leave to have chance to play in the tournament. And also more fans would be going to games.

Just sayin'

Completely agree, all I hear is Tiger basketball has always been this and Tiger basketball has always been that and we are better than this and we are used to a higher standard, but then we make ourselves look so small time and spoiled by having an empty arena.

Why would any good player want to stay or sign up for this program right now when they know that the first sign of trouble there is no home court advantage anymore. That everyone will start pulling for them to lose so we can fire the coach and all the bitching and moaning they will read. People want him to go get these top players but you can't really bring them on a recruiting visit during games and show them there is no support. Hell the football team can't use it anymore to bring recruits they go elsewhere. If he loses enough and doesn't put a good product on the floor he will be let go but the damn fan boycott doesn't help anything. 03-banghead

Is it a boycott? I personally just spend my time and money elsewhere. Painted my living room the other day then sat and watched it dry. It was JUST LIKE watching a Tubby offense. I don't care who the coach is, when they put a decent product on the floor the stands will be packed. Period.

Unfortunately, the school needs to do something. It's time for "Buy a Hotdog and get 2 free tickets" at Tiger Mart. We need to get butts in the seats and our play isn't doing it. Our schedule isn't doing it. Marketing isn't doing it. You may not have a family or anything else going on, but most do. Fans don't OWE Tubby or the university anything.

Also doesn't help that Beale Street has gone back downhill. The clean up downtown project was nice. But it's getting less and less safe again. Hard to take a family. IMHO

This attitude is why we will always be a G5 school and never thought of as big time. We have fans that are willing to show up if and only if we are really good, period.

That’s why it sucked to see Crawford go, there wasn’t really a solid reason for him to stay.

Lots of reasons to stay.

I’m not sure if he’ll graduate this year and be eligible to grad transfer. I haven’t heard either way. If he chooses to play for a top team his last year, I certainly wouldn’t blame him.

It’s all speculation at this point, but my guess is that he stays.

He needs supporting players that’s for certain.

You would blame a transfer on the fans? For not going to games? 03-lmfao

That's a leap. The blame would be on Tubby. But we fans are not helping this team with our attendance. That much cannot be denied. And we have 4 recruits' parents/coaches saying that attendance and negativity impacted their recruiting.

Memphis is not mid major. We are high major-G5 is not even a relevant term for CBB.
