Has Dugan played? Didn't see his name in the ESPN box score.[/i]

Davis pressed a little too much, looks visibly frustrated. This is just one of those games he needs to shake off and move on.

They put together a solid game plan. Let Wilder get his and shut down the others.

We’ll get another shot at them at home. I don’t see us losing twice to them.

Awful defensive effort, particularly in the second half. Allowing eight consecutive makes, even with a few turnovers sprinkled in, isn't going to get it done. Pick nits about the offense all you want, but allowing your opponent to shoot 57 percent isn't going to win you any games. WMU looked totally overmatched on that end of the floor. Toledo got what they wanted, whenever they wanted it.

Felt like WMU had a chance to get back in it on the couple of occasions the deficit was cut to six early in the 2nd half, but each time poor shot selection and giving up a bucket at the other end shot any momentum in the foot. So many missed layups or jumpers from in close tonight.

Davis foul trouble and no Dugan were clearly factors. It's clear that Hawkins doesn't trust his bench at all. Not sure Printy, Randall, Flowers or Ikongshul had any second half minutes until garbage time. The lack of development from the bench should be an obvious concern going forward. What essentially functions as a seven-man rotation (when Dugan is healthy) probably isn't going to cut it if this team fancies itself getting through Cleveland in March.

Hopefully, this is just a blip. Regroup and get back at it Saturday against Ball St.

Tough to win on the road, but there were things from this game that concern me.

It's still early in the season, but last night was not Western Michigan University basketball.

Giving up over 70% shooting to Toledo in the second half is more than concerning.. not to mention going so cold in the same stretch.

Actually the defense wasn't that bad. Toledo shot lights out from three land. Davis got in foul trouble early. Game plan was to go right after him and they did. You can see that Johnson and Jones are only sophomores. They get rattled easy. Reggie made some bad feeds. WMU had many more shots than UT but couldn't get much to drop. Lamont had numerous opportunities in the paint. This team doesn't have the killer instinct yet.

Our perimeter defense made no sense. Knappke is a noodle armed wannabe guard. When they fed him in the post we doubled, he kicked out, easy three. When he popped out he buried uncontested 3’s. We didn’t need to double him or Navagato down low, but we needed to get out on them at the arch. We also went under the screens and hoped they’d miss.

It was like playing Keno Davis. You beat teams that love the three by making them beat you in the paint. Throw in an occasional zone maybe??

Anybody know why Dugan didn't play? Was he even in uniform?

...and of course nothing on MLive-GAZETTE front page about game.

MSU-Rutgers, Michigan-Purdue, even a feature about Wolvereenies wearing "short shorts."

But nothing about the local D-I college basketball team.

And yes I know - what should I expect?

Duggan was dressed and shot in warm ups. Hawkins said he's easing Seth back to 100%.

They killed us in the paint. Rebound wise and points. Lamont had probably his worse game as a Bronco

What concerned me the most is that our defense would force Toledo to use up much of the shot clock and then just take a nap at the end of the clock giving Toledo an easy bucket in the paint or leave a guy open for 3... Toledo shooting lights out in the second half didn't help us any.... Lamont looked lost out there on both sides of the court... Not his best game by any measure...

Thought this game was at University Arena for some reason. Then I saw it was at Toledo, and I'm like 'we don't lose by 20 at UA ever.'
