No true USF fan ever wants anything good in football to happen to UCF, and had ratings last night been bad UCF fans and trolls would have acted like that meant the public thought it was because it was an 'NIT' game.

Dumb idea but they woulda said it so i am glad they got slapped, lol.

You speak like a Rich 5 homer.

No, it's just that i see UCF as a rival so don't want anything good coming their way. Do you think there were any Auburn fans rooting for Alabama to beat Clemson last week? Or Michigan fans that were sad that Ohio State missed the playoffs? None that I know of. Rivals come before conferences. I'm very glad that UCF finished no higher than 6th in the final poll and that their bogus natty campaign came to nothing.

I love USF and very much like the competition in the AAC, if we were getting paid $30m a year like a P5 I'd be happy if we stayed there, but since we aren't and won't ever be we have to get out ASAP. I bet 99% of Houston fans feel the same.

I also watch all the bowl games, including all the pre-Christmas G5 games. I bet you didn't but maybe you did. 07-coffee3

On the last paragraph, so what, that just makes you a college football enthusiast. You speak like a Rich 5 homer. It has me wondering, although I know you're a realist, like me.

Even if you hate UCF, naturally, you just spoke down on the AAC (you specifically named it in the first post in this chain). While a realist, you sound like a total R5 homer.

Enough of the personal stuff C2. Keep it to the OP. The game drew large numbers as explained by Frank. But that goes to show that the Southeast is capable of delivering big numbers as well as the Northern Midwest when combined with the PAC. That might just be the future emphasis for bigger in season matches as well as an exploitable formula for some mid range bowls.

But the take on this is that the so called G5 boycott either never really materialized, or worse, just didn't matter.

Given the demographics however, more than a plausible case can be made that within a decade or two USF, UCF, and Houston might well find their way into the club you are so fond of chastising. If they do, how are you going to feel then? My bet is nouveau riche, and a bit hypocritical, but you'll probably keep that to yourself. And maybe I'll be around to remind you of it, and maybe I won't, so I'm planting that seed for thought right now. Enjoy.

I don't mean to make it confrontational but it seems unusual for him to constantly toot that horn and take the extreme Rich 5 stances.

Houston has already been in the club. After being away for so long, trust me, I don't think any UH fans would be arrogant. The term "New Rich" wouldn't be appropriate, more like that person working to make sure he has a happy retirement after working menial jobs to stay afloat.

Jrsec you should take a real close look at quo vadis about being a p5 troll on the AAC conference board claiming to be a USF fan which C2 and others are wondering what this person is really up to including me, if your here to police this place then I trust you will do your job

Thats funny. Ohio is one area I figure would be inclined to not watch.

That's like saying I expect Pittsburgh not to watch the Super Bowl when it's New England vs Atlanta.

Columbus is an Ohio State town, and if you follow Ohio State, you are naturally interested in "big time" college football more generally, because that's what OSU competes in.

I live in Baton Rouge, but when the national title game was Oregon vs Ohio State, I tuned in, because even though my favorite school wasn't involved, it was the national title game of college football.

The notion that you only watch college football if your team is involved is an alien one to me, and I didn't even know such folks existed until i got on boards like this one.

I'm 100% USF, but even if I wasn't and just pretending to be, what's the problem here?

There has been a lot of talk from UCF fans and AAC fans on this board this past week about how the official national title game would be boycotted or ignored because it was all-SEC and because UCF was the 'real' champ, so it's fair game to point out that this didn't happen.

This isn't an AAC or G5 specific board so I'm not really sure why you would expect this board to be restricted to only pro-AAC/G5 propaganda. If you don't like reading comments critical of the AAC, then spend your time on the AAC board - that's the board for nothing but warm and fuzzy talk about UCF, the AAC, Aresco, etc. 07-coffee3

Yes, I would like to see a breakdown of the ratings by hour or something. The second half was much more exciting so wouldn't be a surprise if the ratings rose over time.

And Saban putting in that frosh QB is the main reason the game became a lot more dynamic. Before then, it was Georgia out-Bama-ing Bama at their usual game.

Its not an indictment of the area or thier interest in football. Its just an observation that Ohio State fans were the most likely to have felt shafted by the selection process this year. If there was an area where Big-10 fans might "protest" by not watching--that would be it. There clearly wasnt----Or maybe there was--and the ratings number could have potentially even been bigger. Either way, 28.4 million viewers is a huge number.

I think he's a realist. Many UH fans on the AAC board think of me in the same way, that it seems I'm overly negative on my favorite team or at best focus too much on the negative.

That said, geez, he never seems to say much positive about his own team or the conference. He's always on this board sounding like he's the biggest Rich 5 homer there is. I mean, I respect his views, nothing wrong with them but it's odd coming from someone who roots for a team in the Other 5.

And I'll try to move on JR.

EDIT: I'll take it to PM's next time. It was never anything personal with him, just something I had quietly taken note of for some time.

It is the responsibility of the AAC mods to handle what happens on the AAC board. I only moderate other boards when there is no moderator present and a reported post comes in.

That said, this kind of message is best reserved for a PM and complaints about moderation are required to be submitted by PM. To fail to do so is a banning offense.
Since you obviously didn't know this I'll let it slide without even a formal warning.

But while I'm at it, calling out posters in a thread, as several have done with Quo, is also a banning offense. The worst have suffered their fate. Trolling a thread with off topic snipes rather than debating the OP is a banning offense and the worst have suffered that fate as well.

If you believe another poster is trolling your home board take it up with your moderators. The CS/CR board, the P5 subforum, and the SEC board are my primary responsibility. I'm merely a substitute on any other forum.

If you come to the CS/CR forum or any of my forums to troll an individual, disrupt threads, or call out any moderators in public I will ban you.

That aside, and otherwise, I think you are good poster. So keep this in mind and use the PM if you have a problem.
