you can't guarantee success man. hiring the right coach isn't a f*cking fool proof science. it's luck, because you obviously aren't going to chase someone who's talents you don't admire. sh!t happens. look at the current state of hoops in the state of indiana. don't get me wrong, i want marshall on the frontier of the american. i'm just sayin', it's inevitable. he's conceivable the most alluring coach amongst the blue bloods. maybe not? he was smart not to go indiana, that state's a graveyard for a hot bed of hoops. but tiny butler perseveres. the concentration of quality programs in that state is unparalleled, anyway. just saying he passes up a lot of step up gigs. to his credit, lots of others did too.

This may be the most ignorant post of all time. And that says a lot, considering this message board.

1. KU despises him
2. He's too much of a douche for UNC and Duke
3. UCLA already called.
4. UK fans went after his wife
And look at that we're already out of blue bloods.
Go away.

#2 is suspect? Ok then, let's put it a different way. Marshall went to Randolph-Macon College, and the closest thing he has to a pedigree is with John Kresse. Duke isn't going to hire anyone Coach K doesn't ordain, and UNC has proven they have no interest in hiring outside their coaching tree as well. They're never going to call.
He turned down his self-professed dream job in South Carolina. He turned down oodles of money in Alabama. Who else is there?

Duke will eventually recall Collins from his secondment in Evanston.
UNC will have cheated so successfully that it will be in the NBA's Eastern Conference shortly.

Marshall to K-State?
LOL!
Yep... that's the opening he has been holding out for, with a 30% pay cut to boot.
K-State has been through three coaches in the same timeline as Marshall's WSU tenure, so I guess we'll sit on pin and needles again when the next go-'round comes up.

I am assuming that the snow and cold maybe even blizzard conditions kept the crowd down at the Temple-UC game. But Tulane, 1512 really? You even have a good team this year.
Ah, Wichita State, you must be new here.
There are currently only 2 other programs that give a rip about hoops at the moment, SMU and Cincinnati, and even SMU isn't as rabid as they were for Larry Brown a few years ago.
You are coming into the league at a very weird time: a time when UCF and Houston have better programs than Temple, Uconn, and Memphis: a time when the supposed "flagship" programs (Uconn, Memphis, Temple) are 0-7.
I bet WSU fans were very excited to be playing these three schools. I'm sorry that the programs you are actually facing are ghostly imposters of their former selfs.
Memphis and Temple are pretending to be football schools now, and Uconn I guess is a WBB school? Just weird, weird times. I hope these ships get righted quickly because we could be looking at a 5-7 bid league when its clicking, instead of the current 3-4 bid league.
Um we are a baseball/ hockey/ field hockey school now

AP voter David Borges on this week vote - " Wichita State: Shockers are finding the American easy pickins so far."
He had WSU at 6. Cincinnati at 16.

It is a very good conference.
We have made slow but steady progress. We were picked last in our first year and we finished in the middle of the pack in the hockey east we also upset 3 BC and a few others and 2 years after that we hosted our first hockey east tournament series. We lost :( but it a step in the right direction. Hopefully we can make it to the ncaa tournament in a few years.

Overall attendance averages will bump up slightly after Wichita State finishes its maiden tour of the AAC. UConn being at their worst in like 3 decades still managed to just about fill up the 16,000 seat XL Center for the Shox. We're used to receiving these warm welcomes.

Also, spare me the smug superiority act. I'm fully aware of what conference UCONN is in.
