Tapper Calls Out CNN Colleague Stelter For Questionable ‘Journalistic Standards

CNN has standards?

Quote:Jake Tapper called out his CNN colleague Brian Stelter, who recommended the Michael Wolff book “Fire and Fury” because Trump haters say the book “rings true overall” despite its numerous factual errors.

Tapper chided Stelter on Twitter for his loose journalistic standards, writing: “Having many errors but ‘ringing true’ is not a journalistic standard.”

After fellow liberals slammed Tapper for criticizing his leftist colleague, Tapper backpedaled.

“That said, quotes are quotes,” he tweeted. “And if facts can be ascertained by further reporting as true, that’s also a service.”[…]

Liberal pundits like Brian Stelter have been eager to excuse the book’s blatant errors because it mocks President Trump.

“This book paints a consistent portrait, that many other reporters have been painting for months, about the president’s incompetence and instability,” Stelter said on CNN this weekend.

You gotta give props to Jake Tapper on calling out his colleague who recommends this book given the gross number of errors discovered throughout. On Sunday, Geraldo Rivera - far from a conservative himself - thought the Wolff book was garbage due to the large number of errors.

The sad (or great) situation we find ourselves in regarding Michael Wolff's book - we're never going to know if Trump is unfit for office based on what is written in "Fire and Fury". The large number of errors alone regarding places, dates, people present in meetings and what the people said will make the book radioactive.

With his first full year now completed, I have to say that if this man is "unfit" then we needed an "unfit" man many decades ago in the WH.

The book has been so discredited, I hope the left tries to go after Trump with it. It will be a bloodbath. Even the author has admitted not everything in the book is true. This Wolf guy was in this for the bucks and that is it.

Also, the left going after Trump as being unfit and having psychiatrists coming out saying Trump is unfit mentally after never evaluating him personally are creating another disaster for the left. Their Russia bullcrap has been exposed, Trump is wining right and left, so they are reduced to tactics the American people will be disgusted with. Trump would win by a landslide right now and they are scared to death.

The "unfit" stuff just shows how desperate they have become. Nothing else is working so that is the backup plan I guess. They have no idea that won't work either as most folks can see it is nothing more than politically motivated.

When people complain about his tweets, I'm reminded of Lincoln's comments about General Grant. When people complained that Grant was a drunkard, Lincoln said, "I need to find out what bourbon he drinks so I can send a barrel to all my other generals."
