I don't see anything for the MAC to discuss other than shuffling locations of the current bowls.

The only thing they may possibly consider is starting a new bowl to mitigate any bowl eligible teams not having a place to go like this season. But that would still be against another G5 opponent, most likely Sunbelt.

IMHO, not worth adding.

The only P5 worth matching with, of course, is the B1G. The best thing we can do is already done, which is a secondary tie with the Quicklane. No reason to attempt a primary tie, as it's not possible for the B1G to fill it (ask Little Caesar).

Doubtful to get any consideration from any other P5 to matchup with the MAC.

RE: Future bowl agreements
The only rumor I know of is a new MAC-ACC bowl in St. Louis.

I'd love to see the G5 work together in a package with some higher tier bowls. Both the PAC and B12 are geographically challenged when it comes to bowls and might be open to doing something with the G5.

Las Vegas: PAC #4 vs. MWC #1
Sun: PAC #5 vs. CUSA #1
Liberty: B12 #4 vs. AAC #1
Independence: B12 #5 vs. SBC #1

Of course this P5 tie-in would drop in pecking order in years where the PAC/B12 send multiple teams to the CFP. But it should be high enough to stay P5 even in lean years.

MAC doesn't have the fans or geography for securing a larger bowl. But the MAC could then send its champion to a NY6 bowl or could backfill for one of the conferences doing so.

With this years G5, non-CFP champions.

Las Vegas: PAC #4 vs. Boise St.
Sun: PAC #5 vs. Florida Atlantic
Liberty: B12 #4 vs. Toledo
Independence: B12 #5 vs. Appalachian St.

It's better than having the G5 champs playing each other. Gives all the conference champions a shot at a bigger bowl. This is something that can be done without renegotiating the CFP contract.

Otherwise the MAC should look into dropping SBC tie-ins. Two bowls against CUSA and MWC would be better. It gets real old playing App St and Troy in a bowl game every year. CUSA at least has diversity with their lineup and not dominated by 2-3 football schools every year.

RE: Future bowl agreements
Why would the ACC agree to a bowl in St. Louis against us? And STL isn't that close to the MAC footprint anyways. A more realistic goal would be to move the Potato Bowl to Indianapolis.

I wish folks like the poster you are citing would quote some online article, etc. so we can evaluate the post.

As we all know, information on the Internet can be really good or total b*ll s*it.

Most good rumors can be substantiated by media or by others who are believed to have credible knowledge or sources.

The Potato Bowl was made so Boise had a bowl to go to for when they first started out. I don't think the bowl is needed anymore. MAC fans dread going there.

There should be a MAC bowl game in Canton, OH called the Hall of Fame Bowl. It’s a nice stadium that never gets used. Just seems to make a ton of sense.

Canton is farthest city from a vacation city you could think of. It doesn't matter what is there. Unless you're a fan of crippling depression.

Could make it MAC vs. Army/UMass.

Go for the easy win on our turf.

Nah, that's the Youngstown Bowl, Canton doesn't have quite the same rustic charm.

Source for your rumor?

In the days of Internet, Tweets, blogs, etc. almost every rumor should have something behind it even if it is only something like a Tweet from a sports writer, etc.

They'd be exciting if you actually won once in a while.

Mobile, Alabama, isn't exactly heaven on Earth. It's a nice trip, but its hardly a tourism mecca. The big difference is weather.

I've long wished the MAC could find a use for the stadium in Canton. Unfortunately, the weather in late December is pretty rough outdoors. A neutral site game of some kind earlier in the season might make more sense.

Good idea about the early season neutral site game.

Maybe something like Pitt and Ohio.

Good idea. Pitt’s pass defense gave up 36 more yards per game than their offense got passing. But don’t abandon the run- they didn’t stop that very well either.
