This is standard operating procedure for the left now. After one of their own gunned down a Republican Congressman while trying to murder several, their threats have to be taken seriously. Especially with the Dems embracing Antifa now.

While the FBI did not immediately respond to Recode, a spokesperson for the Consumer Technology Association, which hosts the event, declined to comment, and an FCC spokesman for Pai said the agency does “not comment on security measures or concerns.”

The nature of the threats are unclear, but it is the second time in recent weeks Pai has dealt with imminent security concerns.

Allowing companies to throttle your internet connection is unnecessary. The only person that should have the authority to block your access is you. They pushed this through because of the soon to be rollout of 5G. They want to create a tiered market place in the near future to nickel and dime you for everything.

1, Repealing net neutrality was also about charging Google, Facebook, and Netflix for access to the internet. But it is also abut charging csnbbs for access. Something that we all have freely enjoyed.

2, The use of today's internet is nothing compared to what 5G will be capable of doing. So why choke innovation?

1. cost of doing business....that's something I absorb on many an occasion as a small biz owner

2. why not make tires that never wear out? it's possible....

The Republicans are on the wrong side of this.

They are standing on the side of government supported monopolies while preaching about the free market.

This is the classic Republican hypocrisy people hate.

Rather than a micromanaged public utility model, why not focus regulation on fostering competition and rely on that plus enforcement of existing anti-trust laws? Where we have legitimate competition, the horrors claimed to exist without "net neutrality" won't happen. And where we don't, anti-trust laws should be sufficient to take care of them.
