Kent State vs. Central Michigan
The Golden Flashes welcome Central Michigan to the MAC Center tonight. The Chips have won 10 of their last 11 and are coming off a 25 point thrashing of the Ohio (or is it OU?) Bobcats earlier this week.

Four Chippewas scored in double figures in the win over Ohio U. 6'7 sophomore David DiLeo led the way with 22 points and 7 rebounds, 6'5 senior Cecil Williams added 15 points and 9 rebounds, 6'4 senior Josh Kozinksi scored 13 and 6'10 senior Luke Meyers added 12.

Lots of those names sound familiar from last season's MAC tournament game. Remember that crazy game?

These guys are 12-2 for a reason, its gonna take a big effort.

Go Flashes!

I got an ad on facebook that tickets are $6. Is this accurate or just click-bait?

I am sure it is legit. Back when Basketball was the marquee program there used to be $5 tickets over winter break. Not a bad deal really. Trouble is that it’s negative 52 out there.

Big halftime lead! Pippen in the starting lineup. De La Rosa with 0 fouls!

Don’t exaggerate. It’s only minus 45.

Certainly the best game I’ve seen them play this year. I know they beat Oregon St. but they are one of the worst major conference teams and were totally uninterested playing in Kent a few days before Christmas. Central was a better challenge in my opinion. Walker and De La Rosa played excellent games.

Wasn't able to make it to this one but looking at the box score looks like the the rotation shrunk significantly. For once we weren't fouling so that probably enabled playing fewer guys more minutes. I'm curious did we do a better job of defending without fouling or was it a loose officiated game? Nice to see Walker had a good bounce back game and De La Rosa had a real good game.

Interesting stat a friend of mine told me they put up during the Purdue game today. Isaac Haas from Purdue came into today with the second highest free throw percentage in the country for a player 7'0" and up. First was De La Rosa.

Oregon State looked great last night in their win against Oregon. We beat a good OSU team. They've only lost one game in their last eight. It's a quality win.

So was tonight. But, are we going to shoot the 3 this well every night? According to Tanner Castora, that's what really opened up room for our bigs.

The officiating was tighter rather than looser. We defended pretty well. IMO, CMU missed lots of easy shots inside all night. However, we forced them into taking terrible looking 3's, especially during the second half. Overall, I'm happy with the performance, and compete level.

It's a fairly easy equation. If Walker is an efficient scorer like last night, and Adonis goes for 26 and 14, we are going to beat everyone we play in conference. If Walker is going 7/29 from the floor and Adonis has 4 points, 4 boards, and 4 fouls, we are going to struggle to beat anyone we play.

+1 (with shades of grey).

It was a loosely officiated game. Duling and DLR had players draped all over them on one occasion each and no whistle. I image it was loose on the other end too...Not to take anything away from DLR though, he played a great game and is easily our most improved player. We still did t go to him enough IMO. Many of his points were on put backs.

Hopefully the team is headed in the right direction.

Oregon St is still the 10, 11 or 12 team in the PAC12 in any ranking I see. I’ll take the CMU win as being better.

CMU is a good MAC win ...YES.

But I seriously doubt, even on their home court, CMU could beat Oregon State ... Oregon or Colorado, teams OSU has already defeated. I think Kent would have a chance against all of them.

As the season goes on ... Oregon State may prove to be a very, very quality win.

It might on paper but games on December 22 or whatever tend to be misleading. I would have said the same had we lost. I like games that matter more. We looked as good as we have all year last night. As Danny said when Walker shoots that well it’s hard to look bad. However I thought Walker shot well because he passed up a lot of shots that he more than likely would have missed. He seemed to play smart last night. Hopefully that’s a good sign. We will see.

ALL YOU SAY IS TRUE ... BUT

In the yes of those who use such games as benchmarks for credibility, it will speak loudly. Put it this way, I think Senderoff and Co. would rather have it than not.

As for 'best game' ... hard to judge from box scores. Without Oregon State hitting a bunch of 3-pointers in the final minute, that was a 10-12 point win for Kent State.

The guess is at Kent and around the MAC ...'Best Game' is still to be played.

I agree with your second and fourth (or is it first and third??)comments. I just don’t think it will be a big enough win to effect seeding if they make the tourney. I’m assuming Oregon St will stay near the bottom of the PAC12. If they surprise and don’t stay there maybe it could have a tangible impact.

I'm not even considering NCAA seeding. This conference is so screwy. Getting through the MAC Tourney is always a tall order, even for a higher seed team, which is far from being determined.
Oregon was a good win for us. They are beating a few teams, which is good. More importantly, we need to put up a banner as this could be Sendy's last year on our bench. We need to get our place at the table before a coaching turnover. We are 1-1 in the MAC with a big week in the conference.

BTW, are we starting the conference play earlier or is school starting later? We always timed it so the conference home opener was the weekend the students returned.
Just curious.

Please explain "could be Sendy's last year on our bench"? I have no idea what you're talking about. "Banner" for what? Maybe your being facetious?
