RE: UT QB's
I appreciate the recall on the QB situation. It makes me feel good about UT QB situation these days. It is tooooo bad Opelt got hurt. There was no depth in those days. He still has to be cherishing the win over Michigan. Whoop whoop! Cochran just didn't have any wheels. Lenehan looked like a talented QB. I wish he would have hung around.

Cochran was a drop back QB trying to run a Spread Offense. Needed better protection.

That explains it. Regardless, glad he is doing well. Sounds like he certainly is living up to his potential.

He had a huge game against Iowa State in what might have been his debut - or the second game he started. I think most people projected him to be an All-MAC performer based on that one game. That turned out to be a career game for him. He took his highly developed brain and put it to better use in the medical profession. I don't think he even attempted to play his senior year.

Clint got a degree in bio-engineering at UT. Got his medical degree at UT, did a residency at Michigan and now is a pediatrician in Ann Arbor.

Am I mistaken but didn't Cochran get hurt? I think that had more to do with his discontinued production and that he made no illusions his goal was medical, not football. He wasn't going to risk that brain. I think UT did well in their support of his goals.

Aaron Opelt, I remember some of his downfield blocks. Kid was a gamer.

Cochran took a huge hit in the final OT at Iowa State. Don’t recall if there was a flag but I seem to recall that it was on the late side.

DJ Lenahan transferred back closer to Home to Seton Hall. He wasn't injured. Just wanted to play.

That's not what happened.

There is a blurb online that says DJ was dismissed from the Toledo team. I have no personal knowledge of why he left Toledo.

That should read Seton Hill, not Hall. Both PA schools. Hall is much closer to his home. My mistake.

Yep! Old news. It's not worth bothering with. There are more exciting things in Rocket lore.

RE: UT QB's
Opelt was the most talented of the recent QBs, in my opinion. More talented than Bruce or Logan. Opelt had it all, arm legs, drive. Too bad he was injured much of his time.
