The only place it really is an issue is if it does permanent damage. The only place that is the case is the Florida Keys because it could permanently kill the coral.

Of course, with the Cubans and Chinese drilling there, that's going to be a risk regardless of what we do.

What we really need to do is make the investment necessary to have adequate casualty control assets in the event of an offshore disaster. Things exist. Other countries have them. We don't. One problem is that there are several excellent pieces of equipment that remove 90% of the oil from water, but EPA won't accept anything that removes less than 99%.

it is an issue if there is a spill on our coast. The cost to our tourist economy would be huge.
