RE: Coaching Staff Completed
Todd Graham was extremely gracious, allowing Norvell to poach staff and recruits. We aren't lucky to be losing so many good coaches, but we kind of lucked out with Graham getting sacked and Norvell having access to familiar faces who hopefully won't miss a beat on the recruiting trail and on the field.

Wow, that didn't take long. And they seem to be quality coaches with good experience.

They are both defensive coaches. Wonder if they were pushed out due to Memphis defensive performance this past season. Normally coaches leave for other programs.

Being hired by Georgia isn't exactly being "pushed out" the other is going to either Miss State or ole miss... while it might be a bit of a step backwards, at least he is in the $EC.

But, as for your assertion, you are just wrong. Laughably wrong.

Yep Earthbound, clearly MN had his eye on his friends/coaches at ASU. That's probably why this happened so fast. He probably didn't even have to interview them.

Interesting that they have 2 guys listed as Run Game Coordinator. Maybe one is for defense, who knows. Patterson also coached special teams so I wonder if Lorig is going to be leaving as well since he coaches linebackers and special teams.

Just seems like TJ Rushing should be Run Game Coordinator.

Just sayin'

Since Patterson is a defensive coach, that will be "run stoppage coordinator". I guess it's a way to get him here and more money - since he's been a DC for the past 10 years.

I guess so. Doesn't seem to be a Passing Coordinator for defense though.

RE: Coaching Staff Completed
Hall (new) - OC and HC for past 12 seasons at lower levels. New rule allowed a new position coach for TE's.
Silverfield - Courted by the NFL. Promoted to Assistant HC. Same position coached otherwise.
Dillingham - Promoted to OC. TE's split apart by new position and given to Hall.
Johnson - Promoted to Passing Game Coordinator.
Jones (new) - Takes on position coach from Dickey's departure.
Ball - same role
Lorig - same role
Patterson (new) - DC for the past 12 seasons. Takes over from Lanning's departure. I'm guessing this should say "Recruiting Coordinator" by his name.
Randolph - same role
Rushing (new) - Takes over for Woodson. Former NFL player.

Now that I look at it, it should probably be Recruiting Coordinator. That's what Lanning was, and we don't have any Recruiting Coordinator labeled on this list.

Woodson apparently went to Auburn, so one coach goes to the $EC East champs, one coach goes to the $EC West champs... apparently some people thought our defensive coaches weren't that bad.

RE: Coaching Staff Completed
Recap:

Replaced Dickey with Hall. Dickey was like the glue and will be missed. But Hall is well known throughout the southeast and is a younger, recruiter type. Helps fill the Mississippi recruiting void created by Woodson's departure. Also, allowed us to promote rising star Dillingham - insuring we keep him. Recruiting impact: loss in TX/OK, gain in MS/AL.

Replaced Lanning with Patterson. Sort of the opposite of the situation above. We lose a young recruiter, but gain a lot more experience. The Tigers now have 4 guys coaching D with Coordinator level experience. Recruiting impact: loss in MS/midwest/juco, gain in OK/TX.

Replaced Woodson with Rushing. Recruiter for recruiter. Rushing has less coaching experience but has the NFL pedigree to point towards in recruiting. Recruiting impact: loss in MS, gain in OK/West coast ?

Added Jones in a new position. Recruiter. Recruiting impact: gain in TN.

Also, promoted Silverfield, Dillingham, and Johnson. What about Dillingham? The new OC is just 27 years old. Rising star. Of course it's Norvell's offense, but this speaks bigly for the young Dillingham.

Looks like we did okay with the staff changes. Kudos for boosters/admin coming up with more money for the staff. Now if Arizona would just hire Sumlin or Butchie, I'd feel better.
