Aresco is a total wimp loser. What a pathetic response and reaction.

Just fire the clown already. He doesn’t want to do his job anymore.

Aresco is tougher to find than Carmen Sandiego.

He's not gonna embarrass himself. UCF fans are amazingly turning lemonade into a lemon.

“We’re P6!!”

“Commissioner, do you think UCF should have a right to the title?”

“LOL nah they just having fun. P6 is just something stupid we put on our helmets”

That’s what I just heard. End the campaign.

Aresco was on ESPNU radio this afternoon but I wasn't in the car to hear it. Sirius doesn't have the interview archived yet

Mike sits on the Management Committee of the College Football Playoff as the Commissioner of the AAC. He can push through channels for more American access and be the face of the conferences' marketing push, but he can't be the one making that claim before the CFP Championship game is even played.

He doesnt have to. He also doesnt need to go silent. He has already gone on record as saying the AAC champs are being under rated and the conference is not getting proper respect. He certainly can continue to say that--in fact, he actually now has more ammo to support his view. He needs to be out there pushing that view.

As far as UCF claiming a Natty--he need not directly support it or condone it. He can simply say something to the effect that split titles have long been part of college football. He can then say this is the type of thing that can happen when schools believe they are not being treated fairly. Whether you agree or not, its just another sign that there are issues with how the committee views the G5 and if not addressed, this type of thing could eventually undermine the popularity and integrity of the system. I mean--with four teams--how does a team with no losses not make the playoff? How does a team with no losses not even make the top 10? I think that would make his point without actually supporting the UCF claim.

RE: Where is AAC commissioner Mike Aresco after UCF peach bowl win
He doesn't need to be out there right now. We are doing what needs to be done. He already set the P6 narrative. This is Keeping the AAC and UCF the talk of sports shows everywhere, while the soon to be played NIT game gets less coverage. If you are a fan of the AAC you need to keep stirring the pot, so we can grab another 3 or 4 days press, then do not watch the Nit game. make its ratings suck.

RE: Where is AAC commissioner Mike Aresco after UCF peach bowl win
Aresco sent his resume to the P5 during his ESPNU interview. He should be fired for that.

No way does #12 represent what UCF is. In fact, I wish they would have put us #13, so a 4 loss team would have been ahead of us. They almost did from what I heard.

Yep. This is only going to be in the news cycle for another week.

Exactly. Then after it seemingly has died down he makes his own statement to revive it and keep it in the spotlight. Some seem to forget he already blasted the committee once early in the season. He nailed them for keeping USF out and downgrading UCF, and pointed out that it appeared to be orchestrated. No one from UCF has said anything he hasn't already pointed out.

Ppl are saying UCF only beat one ranked team, Memphis (twice). Navy was also ranked during the season as was USF (or they should’ve been).

It’s just more of the crap the P5 uses to complain about SOS when they know damn well they create the lack of SoS by never playing teams from the aac home and home.

Everyone already knows Mike Aresco will have a good argument about The AAC lack of respect... If Mike Aresco steers the pot by disturbing the National Title Game before or on game day, it could be a huge mistake $$$.

Patience gentlemen

Well, there's plenty AAC ammo now to take anyone to war... Pretty sure Mike Aresco will use everything he has.

Baffling really that the guy has gone AWOL. Not a word. Any other P5 commissioner would be thundering up a storm.

They did that to WMU last year (lol...I think it was actually a 4-loss Auburn).

We already know UCF can claim a national championship and that they should have an opportunity to play for the CFP championship. The system is crooked but the end goal is two things for this conference, a bigger media rights payday and access to the playoff. Eventually I think we will see the playoff expand to eight with an automatic bid to the G5 and the American will receive a nice raise.

All the commotion about UCF advances the P6 narrative without the conference having to lead it. What UCF did for the legitimacy and marketing for the conference that can't be bought.

He has been on ESPN since the game, in interviews with the USA Today, Orlando Sentinel, CBS Sports, ESPN radio, quoted on AP... that’s not exactly awol, especially given its CFP commissioners meetings week in ATL prior to the championship.
