3. Outside chance at 4 if the cards fall the right way or the conference tournament goes wild.

That's the idea, but just adding WSU by itself doesn't do anything when teams lose games they probably shouldn't or don't schedule well enough in the non-con.

RE: AAC NCAA tournament bids. How many?
just look at tonight for where the AAC can make moves...
UConn @ Memphis-with a win- UConn would be up in the RPI to #62(it was 122 on 1/8). With 11 wins already. A win over #1 Nova would likely move them into the bracket next week. But even loss there, and they still have several more chances to move up. Great SOS. If they lose to Nova- but then go 3-1 in next 4 after that (SMU, @ Temple, @ UCF, and Cincy)- they're going to be making a huge move(they would be 14-9).
Cincy @ UCF- with a win UCF would move up in RPI to #46(from 58). UCF is no where near as far away as folks think.

If Uconn and UCF both win- that's going to be huge for the league.

We are planning on screwing up your first scenario.

A win over #1 Nova would do a lot for a lot of teams, but I haven't really seen anything from UConn that leaves me expecting that to happen. Losing against Nova and then splitting the Smoo-Temple-UCF-UC string to go 2-3 would probably be the best UConn can reasonably ask for.

we played good against WSU so maybe we can feed of the XL crowd like last time and hopefully keep it close and maybe win

You're going to have to move the ball better if you want to pull that upset. You have the talent, just need to harness it. 04-cheers

Yeah. I was hoping for better this year. The injury to Taylor at UCF hurts. Temple is a complete mystery of a team, one that I thought would be at-large worthy this season.

That pretty much leaves WSU and Cincy, and whomever finishes at the top of the middle pile as a 3rd. A 4th is possible if somebody gets hot and things break just right. The Big10 and P12 are both pretty putrid this season, there are VERY few at-large candidates below the AAC, and you have to get to 68 somehow.

Looks like the addition of Wichita, only added Wichita to the tournament. Hurt the MVC and slightly helped the AAC.

Could someone explain the RPI, and how it is important? What is a "Good" RPI?

This is a very short-term view, and not that accurate to begin with. The AAC is very likely going to increase its NCAA participants by 50-100% this season. Which guarantees a 50-100% increase in revenue from tournament credits. It will also likely improve the seeds of those teams, increasing the odds of advancing, which increases both revenue from tournament credits and notoriety from media. All this with UConn and Memphis in the proverbial crapper. I think most conferences would be quite happy with that type of return.

I am not sure about the sellouts. I have only watched two games (Gonzaga and Boise). From what the Aztec board tells me, we are inconsistent. I guess a few bad losses early will keep them out of the tourney.

I just do not care enough about basketball to stay up late, when I have young kids and a business to run. Furthermore, basketball just doesn't do it for me .I cannot force myself to care.

As a high RPI number you are correct they do help bring 1-2 victories, of course playing in the AAC helps improve their RPI over the mvc. Not really sure how much credit the shockers can take since their high RPI is what helps with conference bids and their high RPI is an outcome of playing in the conference. Chicken or egg?

The best part being it isn't his school or conferences board he feels so little about he has to comment on, no it's a rivals.
